Our Human Luna

Chapter 8

POV Olivia – September 15

The past week has flown by, and a lot has happened. After my first night in the pack house, Liam and Lucas introduced me to the whole pack. I didn’t expect a warm welcome since I’m obviously human. But everyone has been so incredibly kind and welcoming to me! The date for my Luna Ceremony has also been set and preparations are ongoing. I’ve also started some training, the Twins wanted me to get stronger and learn a little bit of fighting. They swore they would be always there to protect me if something would happen, but they said it would give them a little bit of peace in their minds if I would know some fighting skills. Not that I would ever be able to win a fight with a wolf. But just to maybe delay my opponent even if it’s only a couple of seconds.

Besides from all the pack stuff I’ve also had a long phone call with my aunt. I told her that I moved in with my boyfriend, so she wouldn’t need to rent the apartment for me anymore. She wished me all the love and happiness in the world, and I thanked her a thousand times for supporting me the last couple months. And oh yeah! Then there is also the thing called school. It’s a 50-minute drive from the pack house to the high school. Every single day one the Twins drop Meghan and I off at school in the morning and pick us up again in the afternoon.

Today it’s Wednesday, which means Meghan and I finish school at 2 P.M. I’m very excited for this afternoon, because Liam and Lucas promised me a walk in the forest. I’ve only been in the forest once and I loved it. If it was up to me, I would go for a walk every day, but the Twins told me the forest could be very dangerous and I they made me promise I would only go there with them.

As soon as the school’s buzzer goes, I run out of the classroom in the direction of the parking lot. I hear Meghan following behind me. Once outside, I spot Lucas’ car on the usual meeting spot. I quickly hop in the passenger’s seat, while Meghan gets in the back seat. “Someone is happy” Lucas says laughing and places a soft kiss on my temple before he starts the engine. “Well, yeah! I’ve been wanting to go into the forest all week. But you and Liam wouldn’t allow me” I say with a pout. Meghan chuckles from the back seat “yeah, she wouldn’t stop talking about it all day. My poor ears!”

When we finally arrive back home, I see Liam waiting on the stairs in front of the pack house. Lucas barely parked the car before I jump out and run in Liam’s direction. I jump into his arms and thank God he’s a werewolf because otherwise we’d be both on the ground right now.

“Someone is excited for our walk!” Liam states. “I said the same thing” Lucas says coming up behind us. Their eyes haze over, and I know they must be mind linking. I give Liam an elbow in his stomach “ouch, what was that for?” he asks. I shrug “you guys excluded me from your little conversation and Lucas is standing out of elbow reach. So, this one was for you” I explain. Liam pouts which makes me grin and I place a kiss on his cheek. “Better?” I ask him. “Much better!” he says placing his nose in my neck, taking a deep breath of my scent.

“What would you say if we’d take you on a run in the forest instead of a walk?” Lucas asks. My eyes widen “you mean in Wolf form?” Both nod their heads “Yes, you can ride on our backs if you want to” Liam says. I nod my head enthusiastically. “Alright, let’s go then” the Twins say at the same time.

We walk in the direction of the forest, me in between Liam and Lucas. At the edge of the forest Liam is the first to shift into his wolf. This is the first time I see the boys in wolf form, and I take a moment to stare at the beautiful wolf in front of me. He is pitch black, with bright blue eyes. The blue colour of his eyes a shade darker than in human form. I’m surprised that even on four legs, he comes at my shoulder height. The Wolf takes slow steps towards me and presses his snout against my neck. I’m so focused on Liam’s Wolf that I startle when I feel Lucas’s hand on my shoulder. “Let’s get you on Connor’s back” he says.

I turn around to look at him “Connor?” I ask confused. “Connor is Liam’s wolf, Asher is mine” he explains while picking me up and places me gently on his brother’s back. “Hold on tight” he says. After that he quickly shifts as well. I grab Liam’s scruff and they both take off.

After dinner I lay down on the couch, while the Twins head towards their office to finish the last bit of work for today. I must have fallen asleep because when I open my eyes, I’m carried up the stairs by Lucas. I hum content when he places me on our bed “where is Liam?” I ask when I look around and don’t see him. Lucas eyes haze over for a moment, probably mind linking his brother. “He’ll be here in a minute” he says looking back at me.

“Will I be able to do that too?” I ask him. Lucas looks at me confused “able to do what?” “Mind link” I say. “When Liam and I mark you and you mark us, you’ll be able to mind link the two of us. After your Luna Ceremony you’ll be able to link with the whole pack as well” he says placing a kiss on my forehead. “Are you sure?” I ask, all of the sudden I feel self-conscious “I mean, I know that marking is basically biting each other. But my teeth don’t grow into canines”

Lucas nods “as soon as we found out you were our mate. Liam and I did some research. Even though it is very, very rare that a werewolf is mated to a human, it has happened in the past. And marking will work the exact same way as it would for two mated werewolves. Liam and I would mark you first, giving you some of our DNA and then you’ll just have to bite us. Magic will do its job for you! So, you don’t have to worry about any of that” he explains.

“What’s she worried about?” Liam enters the bedroom. “About the marking” Lucas answers his brother.
