Matthew could only stare in shock upon hearing Mr. Cooper's words. Having frequently engaged in illegal activities, Matthew was well aware of Mr. Cooper's character.
The man who served as Victor Raines' mentor was known for his ruthlessness and cruelty. Whatever he said, he would do. As was the case just now, if Mr. Cooper ordered his men to beat him up and throw him into a ravine, it was not beyond the realm of possibility that it would happen.
Matthew grew even paler with fear. There was no other option for him but to beg Danny to save him.
