I Didn't Come to Apologize

Matthew's body stiffened at the sight of his cousin's husband. His lips trembled as he wanted to say something but couldn't.

“You're finally here! So I don't have to bother spending money to pay the underground gang to beat you up!” Desmond exclaimed, both eyes glaring at Danny and cheeks bulging with anger.

“Hmm, I didn't want to come to this useless party, but suddenly I changed my mind, or rather your favourite boy made me change my mind,” Danny replied with a chuckle.

“Oh, now you've realized that you're not going to be able to live out there, have you?” asked Michelle, squinted at her son-in-law and again said, ”Yikes! It's still good to live in the Huxley's house and eat there for free, but you're acting up and demanding a divorce!”

“You're ungrateful!” exclaimed Anthony.

But again, Danny just laughed mockingly at them. It seemed that this man's arrival was deliberately meant to upset the Huxley family.

“What else do you want to say? Just say it while I'm still here. Because tomorrow, the atmosphere will be different!” exclaimed Danny while standing, folding his arms in front of his chest.

Seeing Danny's cavalier attitude, Matthew had another intention. After all, he had to hide the true situation from the Huxley family. He had to make the Huxley family focus only on Danny's wrongdoing and punish or expel him.

“Dad, I already paid Chuck and Ben, who are professional bouncers, but this useless guy also got them both seriously injured and dragged him here,” Matthew said with a grimace in his voice.

“What?” asked the Huxley family members who were there.

Matthew nodded. Then he glanced at the two bouncers he had hired and gave them the code.

“That's right, sir. You see what happened to me?” Ben began to show the wound on his face.

Desmond immediately clenched his fists tightly and gritted his teeth. “Insolent!”

Meanwhile, Victoria Huxley squinted at Danny, and that's when she started beating her cane on the floor and said, “That's it! Now is not the time to make fun of that man!” Grandma then turned to Anthony and gave him an order: “Anthony, now you bring the Huxley family rules!”

“Yes, ma'am,” said Laura's father.

Anthony immediately entered one of the small rooms next to the hall, where their personal belongings were kept. He brought out a wooden paddle and a finger clipper and brought them to Victoria.

“Mom, this is our family rule,” Anthony said.

Upon seeing the so-called family rules in her father's hands, Laura gasped and covered her mouth with the palm of her hand. She felt an overwhelming sense of horror at the sight of the tool.

“Mother, considering that this bastard has hurt my son so badly and has also cheated on Laura to the detriment of our family name, I think that if we want to punish him with the paddle, it should be done at least a hundred times,” Desmond said as he glanced at Danny and then said, ”If he doesn't also ask for forgiveness for the wrong he has done, then all ten fingers should be broken!”

Laura then turned to Danny and signalled for him to kneel and ask for forgiveness. “Danny, right now, you should kneel before Grandma. If you do, Grandma might be able to talk to you, and you'll be spared the family rules.”

Danny now glanced at Laura and laughed at her. “I got down on my knees and apologized to you guys? Ha ha, what did I do wrong that I had to do such a stupid thing? Is it because I got this spoiled boy hurt? Or was it because I caught you having an affair in the hotel room?”

Laura clenched her fists, wanting to say something, but she couldn't. Meanwhile, Danny faced the Huxleys with his head held high.

“Did you all hear what I just said? I won't get down on my knees and beg you for mercy. I will also insist I came here to end my marriage to Laura!” Danny said this with confidence.

“What?” the Huxley family shouted out loud.

Grandma, who had heard Danny's confession, had her face splashed with dirty water. The old woman then turned to her guards and gave them an order. “Quickly force this man to kneel before me and give Desmond the paddle to tell him the Huxley family rules!”

“It would be my honour, ma'am,” Desmond said with a sardonic smile.

Meanwhile, the two Huxley family guards immediately surrounded Danny and tried to force him to kneel. As they tried to grab Danny's arms, the young man easily caught both of their hands and twisted them.

The two bodyguards, almost 190 centimetres tall and weighing nearly a hundred kilograms, winced in pain. Danny looked powerless as he did so, but he was able to make the base of the bodyguards' arms make a crunching sound as if they were broken.

Danny then pushed the bodyguards' bodies until their noses hit the hard marble floor. Again, the Huxley family gasped at Danny's behaviour.

As one of the guards tried to get up, he rested on his one uninjured hand. “Damn you!”

Danny dragged one of the chairs and sat there, crossing his legs. His arms were folded in front of his chest. He looked up again and looked at the Huxley family lightly.

The two bodyguards attacked Danny again. But as they approached, Danny raised one leg and kicked one of them to the ground under Desmond.

The other guard also cancelled his attack on Danny. He should think again about doing this. “Who are you? Why do you seem so calm when you fight?”

“Ha ha, the way you fight is so rushed that you can't guess where your enemy is attacking!” mocked Danny.

This time, Danny also turned to Victoria and Laura, saying, “You two have seen how I made your bouncers and bodyguards helpless. Do you two still want to force me to kneel and carry out the rules of the Huxley family?”
