Faith:
I didn't stop running, I had to get away from that... that thing. I have no clue what it was and I sure as anything do not want to know what it is either. All I know is that it was huge and it wanted me for a midnight snack and that's all I need to know to run as far away as possible from it. I have got no clue where I am going, but luckily I have my salary with my bonus with me since it was pay day.
As the bus that I got on, left for the next town, I realized that I completely forgot about Rose in my panic. I think she will be fine though, I left most of my money there with her, so if she wants to stay and buy a house, I'm sure she will have more than enough in a few months time, and it is the same for when she leaves, she has enough for a bus ticket and to pay for proper accommodation in the next town as I got the bonus last month too and she has her own money that she earned from her job. She wanted to go off on her own with her girlfriend for a while now and I guess she has her chance now.
I know, I sound like a terrible sister, but the mama bird always throws her babies out of the nest when she knows that they are ready to fly, and my Rose is more than ready to fly.
I have no clue where I am going now, all I know is that I bought a ticket to the next bus out and that hopefully there will be none of those creatures there, and with that thought, I drifted off to sleep.
Rose:
I wonder where Faith is, her shift ended 3 hours ago, she should be home by now. I sat on the small patio chair by the round table where Rose usually does the billing for what we will need when we move on to the next town. I was biting my nails and shaking my leg nervously, she has never taken this long to get home before. Maybe something bad happened to her. I jumped when I heard a knock at the door and ran towards it, yanking the door open.
"Fai-, oh, hey Amy," I said, once I saw who it was.
"Geeze, sorry to disappoint," Amy said with a laugh.
I sat down and rubbed my temples. "I'm sorry, Faith isn't back yet from work and I'm starting to get worried, she was supposed to be back here by half past 9 and it's almost midnight, what if something happened to her?" I asked, tears welling in my eyes in just the thought of her being hurt. She's been looking out for me my entire life, what if she really needed me for once and I wasn't there for her and now she isn't okay.
"Breathe, Rose, I'm sure she's fine, relax. Here, I brought some Chinese food, eat something and I'm sure that you will feel better afterwards," She gave me a kiss on top of my head and went to sit down on the bed with her food.
I start eating but that sickening feeling of nervousness and dread won't go away. I'm terrified, I haven't gone without Faith at all in my entire life, without her with me who knows what might happen to me.
My thoughts were interrupted when I heard Amy let out a big sigh. I turned to look at her, only to find out that she was already looking at me with a frown dawning her beautiful face.
"You're still worrying, aren't you?" She asked, getting off the bed and walking towards me.
"Well, yes. She never takes this long to get home. She's too afraid that someone will recognize us from our home town and take us back, so she makes her and myself come home as soon as we are done with work , so that we don't give anyone a chance to properly look at us, so her being out so late isn't normal," I said staring down at my food. I looked up when I felt Amy's hand on top of mine, her face laced with concern.
"Listen, I'm sure she's fine. Maybe she just picked up an extra shift at work or something, or she got another job and she's there right now and will be back soon, okay? Please don't worry too much, now finish your food and off to bed so we can cuddle. You know how much I love our cuddles," She said, grinning from ear to ear at the thought of cuddles. That woman really does love her cuddles. I giggled and shook my head at this woman that I love so dearly.
"Okay," I then turned to my food with a small smile on my face.
Faith:
I woke up by being roughly shook around by some stranger that smelt like they lived in a dumpster. I instantly shot up and smacked their hand away, ready for a fight, only to see that there is an old man standing in front of me, eyes wide, filled with terror from what I just did. I smiled coyly at him and whispered a thank you and a sorry before getting off the bus. When I got off, I looked around and saw a payphone and instantly went to it, grabbed a coin, put it in and dialed the video store that Rose works for.
"Hello, this is Fun Vids Video store," I heard Amy answer.
"Amy! Thank goodness you answered. Listen carefully, I need you and my sister to get out of this town immediately. I was nearly attacked last night by this ginormous wolf that was almost the size of a bear! That place is dangerous, you need to get out of there before you guys get attacked too! I left town as soon as it tried to attack and I'm sorry that I didn't call any sooner but I was in a rush to get away from that... that thing," I said in a hurry, I only had a short amount of time.
"That's strange, they don't usually attack unless..." Amy said softly.
"You knew about them and never said anything to us?! And unless what?!" I said, disbelief lacing every inch of my body. How could someone so close to my sister and I not tell us something that could potentially kill us, we were staying there to get away from a life threatening situation and yet we ran right into another one blindly because someone we trusted didn't tell us about it.
"Listen, once the wolves... let's say attack as you put it, they won't leave you alone. So you can't stay in one spot for long otherwise..." I then heard the beeping of the payphone, signaling that I ran out of time.
"Dammit!" I shouted, kicking the pole of the phone. I got a few weird looks for that, but oh well. It's time to go job hunting again.
