He looked at her questioningly and continued,
“I thought you wanted to help me and make certain I did the right thing by all the people you tell me are so important and loyal here at The Priory.”
He paused for a moment before he went on,
“And, of course, on the other estates I own, but you have not yet concerned yourself with them.”
“You are – a man and you know – what to do,” Valencia said, “and you were wonderful with the farmers – who were so happy to meet you. You do not – need me anymore.”
