Chapter 2(Unwritten Pages)

Setting: Midnight — Elira’s chamber. Soft wind moves the curtains. She’s at the window, thinking about everything… when the door creaks open. Elira (without turning): “I thought I told Lira not to—” Rael (voice calm, low): “It wasn’t Lira.” She freezes. Slowly turns around. Prince Rael steps in, his cloak damp from the garden mist, eyes sharp, unreadable. Elira (blinking): “Your Highness... it's the middle of the night.” Rael (closing the door behind him): “So it is. And yet, you’re not sleeping either.” Elira (trying to stay composed): “I was thinking.” Rael (steps closer): “About dreams that feel too real? Or futures that don’t belong to you?” Elira (heart pounding): “What do you mean?” Rael (stops in front of her, eyes locked on hers): “You speak differently now. Walk differently. Even breathe differently. You don’t remember it... but I’ve seen you before.” Elira (barely a whisper): “That’s not possible...” Rael (serious): “I remember eyes like yours. In the courtyard. The night my mother died.” Elira’s breath catches. That wasn’t in the book. Not even in the side stories. How does she know this? Elira (softly): “She was holding a silver pendant... with a flame crest.” Rael (shocked, voice dropping): “…How do you know that?” Elira (backs up slightly, eyes wide): “I don’t… I mean, I read it. Somewhere. Maybe—maybe it was mentioned in court once?” Rael (stepping closer, gaze narrowing): “No. It was never written. Never spoken. That moment... was erased from history. Only I remember it.” Silence hangs in the air. Elira looks down, breathing unsteady. Then— Rael (quietly): “Who are you, Elira?” Elira (looks up slowly): “I wish I knew.” --- Rael studies her for a long moment, then — unexpectedly — he softens. His hand lifts, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. Rael: “Whatever you are… you’re not the same girl who used to flinch when I passed.” Elira (trying to joke, voice shaky): “Well… death does change a person.” Rael (tilts head): “You died?” Elira (freezes again, realizing what she said): “I—I didn’t mean it like that. Just a figure of speech…” Rael: “Right.” He walks to the window beside her. Looks out at the stars. Rael (quietly): “They say the stars watch us. Write our stories. But sometimes… they rewrite them.” Elira turns to him, startled. Elira: “What did you just say?” Rael (glancing at her): “Why?” Elira (whispers): “Because that’s exactly what I felt. The moment I woke up here. Like... the stars rewrote something.” --- Just then, a flicker passes outside — a flash of light across the sky. A shooting star. Rael (noticing it): “Make a wish.” Elira (smiling sadly): “I already used mine.” Rael: “Then make another. This world seems to be bending for you anyway.” Elira: maybe you're right your highness. Rael (turns toward the door): “You should rest. It’s late.” Elira (softly): “I will… thank you for coming.” Rael (pauses at the door, then glances over his shoulder): “Take care of yourself… Elira.” He walks out, shutting the door gently behind him. Silence falls again. --- Elira’s Inner Monologue: > Take care of yourself. His voice echoed in my mind, softer than I ever thought it could be. But it didn’t matter… did it? She walks back to the window, arms wrapped around herself. The stars are still flickering. > Three days. That’s all I had left before the story begins again — the real story. Rael’s birthday banquet. The place where he first meets Serene Elowen — the true heroine of the novel. After that, he’ll fall for her. Slowly at first… then hopelessly. And me? I’ll fade. Just like before. Just a shadow in someone else’s love story. I’ll die protecting her, like I was meant to. Because Elira Vane… was always meant to be forgotten. She clenches her fists, blinking back the tears. > But… why does it hurt more now? 🌙 Scene Shift: Prince Rael’s Private Quarters Rael stands alone in front of his fireplace, shadows dancing across his face. He’s still wearing the same clothes, his cloak half-unbuttoned. A glass of wine sits untouched beside him. Rael’s Inner Thoughts: > What’s happening to me? He closes his eyes, replaying her words. > “Death changes a person.” The way she looked at me. The fear… and strength. That wasn’t the Elira I knew. That wasn’t the girl who used to stammer and stare at the floor. He paces slightly, running a hand through his dark hair. > Being around her… it feels like I’m standing too close to something dangerous. Not because she frightens me — But because my heart starts to ache. He pauses, hand over his chest, confused. > Why does my heart… stutter when she looks at me? Why do I feel like I’ll lose something precious if I look away? He exhales deeply, frustrated. Rael (aloud, bitterly): “This wasn’t supposed to happen.” --- Back to Elira — still by her window, finally lying in bed Elira (whispers into the dark): “I don’t want to die again.” > But this time… maybe I’ll change things. Maybe I won’t let fate write the ending Next morning.. Maid: (knocked and see Elira already wake up) My Lady, you're already awake are you alright? Elira: yes I'm alright I just woke up what happened?Maid: Nothing I just want to know what you want to wear in Prince's birthday banquet? Elira: where's my designer? isn't she came today?I told you to tell her to come and get my clothes size. Maid: My lady, she will be here soon, so can you have breakfast by then? Elira: Yes, bring me my breakfast. I'll eat it in my room today...And yes, didn't the prince Rael come today? Maid: No, my lady, he didn't come today because he was busy with some work. He just told me to tell you that now we will meet at his birthday banquet. Elira: oky you can go now. ------ After sometime Elira was sitting in her room.. maid: Knocked on the door and said, "Lady, can I come in?" Elira:( Come in) What happened? Do you need something? Maid: My lady Bellie brown( Elira designer )is here. Elira: You go, I'm coming. After sometime Elira goes down to the hall and meets Bailey Brown, and they decided the dress what she wears. After 2 days the day of birthday banquet Morning – The Palace Courtyard The palace gates opened with a slow, regal groan as the golden chariots rolled in. Flowers were scattered by the maids, and nobles whispered eagerly. Standing in the middle of it all, Elira adjusted her soft lilac gown, her long pink hair braided to the side, blue eyes scanning the scene. She already knew what was coming. Elira (inner monologue): > This is it. The day it all begins. She arrives today — Serene Elowen. The novel's true heroine. Kind, bold, beautiful. The one who captures Rael’s heart without even trying. Maid Lira (whispering beside her): “My lady… the Duke’s niece has arrived. They say she's lovely beyond words…” Elira (softly): “I know.” 🎀 Entrance of Serene The crowd shifted. A girl stepped out of the chariot — tall, graceful, brown hair cascading over her shoulders, and piercing green eyes that sparkled like emeralds under the sun. Serene (with a warm smile): “It’s an honor to finally meet His Highness.” Her voice rang out clear and confident. Elira’s breath caught. She remembered this scene. > Serene would trip slightly — just enough to seem human. Rael would step forward, catch her wrist gently, and smile for the first time. And then... Nothing happened. Serene walked perfectly. Straight. No stumble. No clumsiness. Rael, who stood nearby in dark navy robes — his blonde hair gleaming and red eyes sharp — didn't even move. Instead, his gaze slid… past Serene. Right to Elira. Their eyes met. Just for a second. Elira (inner monologue): > Why is he… looking at me? Serene (looking around): “Oh! Is that Lady Elira Vane? I’ve heard about you.” Elira (smiling politely): “I’m honored you know my name.” Serene (cheerfully): “I’ve heard you’re very close to the prince.” Elira (taken aback): “I wouldn’t say that…” Before Serene could respond, Rael stepped forward. Rael (calm, addressing Elira): “Walk with me.” Serene blinked, slightly confused. Elira (hesitant): “Now?” Rael (without looking back): “Yes. Now.” Elira follows him, her heart thudding in her chest. --- 🌸 Scene Shift – Garden Path Rael walked ahead silently, then stopped under a large white-blossomed tree. He didn’t look at her as he spoke. Rael (quietly): “She’s not what I expected.” Elira: “Who?” Rael (glancing sideways): “Serene Elowen. Everyone's been waiting for her arrival… but I didn’t feel anything.” Elira (tense, voice low): “You were supposed to.” Rael (turns to her): “What?” Elira (covers quickly): “I mean… she’s beautiful. And kind. Maybe you just need more time.” Rael (steps closer, voice firmer): “Time won't change how I feel.” Elira steps back instinctively, but he reaches out — lightly touching her pink braid. Rael (gently): “But you… You’re the one I can’t stop thinking about.” Elira (voice trembling): “Rael…” Rael (voice dropping): “I don’t know what changed, Elira. But ever since that night... since I looked into your eyes... it feels like the world shifted.” Elira looks away, afraid. She knows what’s coming. The book. The fate. Her death. Elira (barely audible): “You’re not supposed to feel that way about me…” Rael (firmly): “Too late.”
