Officer Down
Kate’s world was a haze of darkness, confusion, and pain. Her eyes and face still burned from the aftereffects of the pepper spray, trapped against her features by the tight nylon and tape. But her burning eyes were the least of her troubles. Lying on her back against the harsh springs of a metal bed, her whole body quivered in anticipation of the next surge of electricity that would be coursing through her body. She struggled to breathe through her nostrils beneath the press of the stocking over her head, those two little points the only portion of her head not covered in tape.
