Rebecka POV:
I take a deep breath and fill my lungs with the many scents of nature that hits me as I step out into the sun. Jakes snickers at me but I just smile. I've never imagined it to feel so amazing to be outside. I've missed the birds chirping and the breeze gentle caress on my skin.
"Sorry to disturb you sweetheart but we need to keep moving." Jakes hand press on the small of my back and I feel Adam close behind me. "You're going to make my mom cry." He mumbles and I see Monica waiting in a car on the parking. Jake opens the door to the backseat for me and Adam climbs in on the other side. Jake sits in the front and as soon as the door is closed Monica drives off.
"You looked so happy when you stepped out Rebecka, I'm so sorry, I should have taken you outside with me." Monica says to me and I hear that she is close to tears.
"It's not your fault, you didn't know." I say and Adam takes my hand. I look out the window and watch the buildings pass by which soon is replaced by tall trees. After a short drive through the forrest we come to a small town. The forrest opens up and between the trees you can see a lake. I'm left speechless and when I look at Adam he smiles at me. We stop outside a big, grey house with a beautiful garden.
"Welcome home Becks." Jake grins at me and step out of the car.
"This is your home?" I ask as he opens my door.
"This is our home." Adam says and takes my hand. I look at him and can't help but smile.
"Who else lives here?"
"Just Jake and me, well Lisa too since Jake found her, and when we get you out so do you." He explains and I nod. "I would show you around the rest of the town but we don't have much time." He says and we wave to Monica who drives off to her home. He then leads me inside the house and Jake press two fingers on my chin to close my mouth.
"Your house is amazing..." I say and he snickers.
"Get used to it Becks! You live here too." He says as he runs up the stairs two steps at the time.
"Lisa is upstairs sleeping, she works the nightshift and Jake has been grumpy all day that she didn't come along." Adam says and I look at him.
"Can you blame him?" I ask and tilt my head.
"No, I guess I can't." He sighs and shakes his head. "Come on, the doctor is waiting." He takes my hand and leads me to the livingroom. An older man stands by the large windows and talks to a younger woman. When they hear us enter they turn towards us and the brownhaired woman smiles wide at me. She is tall and beautiful. Her green eyes finds Adams in a silent question and he nods. She comes up to me and stops a few steps away. She has black skinnyjeans and a blue shirt that hugs her curves in all the right places.
"Hey Rebecka, I almost didn't believe it when Jake told me that you were coming." She smiles at me and I don't know what to say to her. I open my mouth and close it again. I look hesitantly at Adam and he puts his arm around me.
"Rebecka, this is Mandy. My cousin and our soon-to-be doctor." Adam says and I manage to whisper an hello. "This is the doctor, my uncle and Mandys father." The older man comes up and takes my hand.
"Pleased to meet you Rebecka. I'm Robert." He has kind green eyes like his daughter and I feel myself relax.
"Nice to meet you." I answer with a small voice and I return his smile.
"Please, sit down so we can examine you." Adam leads me to the big couch and sits down. He pulls me down beside him and holds my hand, his thumb brushes over the back of my hand. Robert puts a chair in front of me and takes my other hand. He holds it in both his hands and closes his eyes. Mandy sits down on the coffeetable and holds up her hands.
"May I?" She asks and I look at her confused.
"She wants your hand." Adam explains and puts my hand in Mandys. She too closes her hand and I'm even more confused. "They feel after your wolf." He says and I raise my eyebrows. "They can feel Stella. Some wolfs have special abilities, like Jake has supersences, Lisa can hide her wolf and her scent, thats why Jake didn't feel her sent on his mother, with his nose he would have been able to smell her the second his mother came home but she hid it. Robert and Mandy can feel it even if you can hide it for the rest of us."
"But I'm not hiding her." I say and Robert opens his eyes.
"No, she is." I stare at him. "The medication makes her erratic and to protect herself and to protect you she hides." Mandy nods at Roberts words. "We need to take a blood sample too. I can feel your wolf but I just want to be sure that you are okay too." Robert says and Mandy picks up a briefcase. Inside is needles and test tubes. I jump up and try not to hyperventilate at the sight of the needles. Adam is behind me in a heartbeat and puts his arms around me.
"I'm right here Rebecka, it is just a small needle, you will not get hurt." He whispers in my ear. I look at Robert and Mandy. Robert sits calmly on the chair and patiently waits for me to come back to the couch. Mandy smiles at us and looks between Adam and me. He walks back to the couch and pushes me with his body. He sits down and this time he puts me in his lap with his arms around me, in case I try to run away again. Mandy quickly straps the band around my arm and feel after a vein. She rubs alcohol on my skin and looks up at me.
"Do you want me to tell you when?" She asks and I shake my head.
"Adam told me you haven't shifted yet." Robert says and stands up.
"That wasn't a question." I say and he chuckles.
"No, It wasn't." He chuckles. "I just want you to know that it hurts her too, not to shift."
"It does?" I feel a pinch of guilt in my stomach.
"Yes it does. She knows that you are afraid of the pain that comes with the shift so she has restrained herself. But it hurts her, and I hope that you find the courage to let her out once you are free." He smiles and squeeze my hand.
"I'm sorry." I say and he shakes his head.
"I don't blame you. If you'd had someone to explain all this it would have saved the both of you a lot of pain. I just want you to know that she don't do this to you beacuse she is restless. I want you to understand her better."
"Thank you." I say and Adam hugs me a little bit tighter, sensing the sadness that washes over me.
"I'm all done." Mandy says and presses a piece of cotton against my arm. "You didn't feel a thing, did you?" She teases and I shake my head. "I hope I see you again soon. I'll leave you two alone. Bye!" She waves and walk out after Robert.
