“ Hello Mate,” he says whilst looking at me extremely confused as if trying to understand something. I resisted the urge to swoon at his voice. It was the complete opposite of Andris’ voice, silky and smooth instead of rough and ragged.
He gulped as I said, “Come with me.”
He followed after me, no questions asked. The amusement in his eyes followed after my frame. We ended up in a guest room, the music from the party extremely faint.
The man standing in front of me took an unnecessary step towards me. I inhaled sharply as I noticed my back was against the wall, and he was blocking the only way out of the room. His pale orbs stared into me, and my perception of his feelings was useless.
I felt simply powerless under his gaze.
“What’s your name?” He asked, his voice calm, and gentle.
“Adalyn,” I said as a feeling of warmth and ease surrounded me, basking off of his form.
“What’s yours?” I asked whilst my voice was unnaturally small.
“Liam,” he answered, the intensity of his eyes unwavering. He looked me up and down, “You’re a hybrid, yes?”
“Ummmm... Yes” I muttered, chewing on my bottom lip aggressively. Liam’s hand ran over my cheek slowly, making its way to my lips. His fingertips trace the outline of my lips before pulling my lower lip out of my mouth.
His thumb rested on my lip, a fire starting in the pit of my stomach. He leaned closer, his shadow enveloping me. “Don’t do that to yourself.” His voice was thick, as his hand slid down my face towards my neck. His arms slowly snaked his way around my neck.
“Don’t harm yourself, my beloved, my queen.”
I whimpered as the warm feeling in the pit of my stomach increased. He leaned forward, resting his forehead against mine. My breathing stopped.
“How did you know I was a hybrid?” I managed to say, as I sounded breathless. He smiled a charming smile.
“My queen it was quite simple. For us to be mates you have to be part angel, but all angels have blonde hair and blue eyes, but you my beloved have dark hair and bright blue eyes. You are the most beautiful creature I have ever seen in all of my existence. I noticed the way the men stare at you lustfull. They aren’t respecting your beauty, my Queen.” He answered, his voice smooth and beautiful.
I looked up at him, and suddenly blurted out, “I have another mate.”
He stayed silent for quite some time before laughing. It was a beautiful sound, just like everything else about him. His head bowed downwards as he nuzzled my neck, “I realize that my queen.”
“Are you mad?”
He places soft kisses against my neck as he answers, “Hybrids have multiple mates to accommodate the many species that they are. I’m not mad. Are you also vampire my love?”
I nodded while enjoying the feel of his lips against my body. “I noticed the way he was looking at you whilst you two were making your entrance.”
Guilt burned through me, what does he think about this? What will Andris think about this? Will they be attracted to each other?
“Liam?” I say tentatively.
He looks at me with new awareness as I said his name, that felt so good leaving my mouth. He tilts his head as if silently urging me to continue, “What can Angels do?”
He looks down at me, “Your parents didn’t teach you?”
I felt like crying or screaming at the mention of my parents, my mother who disowned me, treating me like a horrible embarrassment. Even though it was her who had the affair from which I was born. My step-father who took something precious from a woman, something that should never be taken forcefully, love. My real father who I have never met was killed at the hands of my step-father.
Instead, I took a deep breath and whispered, “No.”
Liam examined me intently, he knew something was wrong, but didn’t try to pry the answers out of me, which was weird and amazing. He kissed my forehead, his lips leaving a pleasurable burn against my skull. I sighed softly.
He smiled at my reaction, “An angel can do many things. They have telepathic connections with other angels, the ability to appear or disappear anywhere they wish, and controlling the elements. Liam said, and as if he was trying to prove a point, he opened the window and the winds surrounded me, keeping me warm.
“Can you fly?” I asked as my eyes lit up. I had always wanted to fly.
He looked down at me in amusement, “Yes we can fly, but that is only after you receive your wings.”
“How do I receive them?”
A smile formed on his face, “because you are a hybrid, the only way for you to receive your wings is to let me make sweet love to you, my Queen.”
I stared up at him in disbelief, he’s kidding, right? A bright smile formed on his face, “Don’t worry love, Angels are known for taking very good care of their mates.”
I blushed wildly. Liam didn’t seem worried at all, he acted as if making love to me was a day to day, normal activity.
“s*x is a normal thing, making love to someone you love is a good thing,” Liam said as he looked down at me in happiness.
My eyes widened in shock, now I know I didn’t say that out loud. Pulling further away from Liam, I stared openly at him.
“I didn’t mean to offend you my Queen. You projected your shock and I couldn’t help but figure out what you were thinking.” Liam looked down in shame.
I instantly wanted to wrap my arms around him, and have those pink lips pressed against my own. “It’s okay,” I said softly, my hand rubbing his muscles bicep.
Warmth flooded through me again as his hand fell down to my hip, his grip firm. “My Queen, please stop unless you want to receive your wings now.” I looked up at him, he was shocked by the love that was blossoming between us, despite knowing each other for only an hour.
His blue eyes stared at my lips, licking his own as he leaned forward, “may I taste your lips, my queen?”
My heart raced until the door was slammed open.
“Well, it looks like you have found your other mate,” Andris says unemotionally as he examined the scene in front of him. Andris walked forward, his dark eyes and full-on dark appearance was the complete utter opposite of Liam.
Liam examined Andris, as Andris did the same to him. By the way, they looked at each other, they could’ve been mates with each other as well. Andris broke off the gaze with Liam and turned his head towards me.
“C’mon Adalynn, we have to feed,” Andris said darkly with a small smirk on his face. I cringed while remembering Andris biting into that innocent teen. I made a move forward, knowing he was right and that I needed blood so I didn’t attack anybody. When Liam’s hand wrapped around my wrist, “You have plenty of blood bags here don’t you?” He said, not even looking the least unsettled by Andris. Andris smirked, “Or she could just feed off of me right here?”
Liam was quiet, “If that’s what she wants,” he answered slowly. His eyes flashed towards me silently, as if he was asking me what I wanted.
I feel my heart swell knowing he doesn’t want me to feed off Andris, but he is willing to allow it to keep me happy. He is such an Angel.
I shake my head, “I will just take a blood bag,” I murmur, my eyes focused on the floor, avoiding both of their gazes. I hear Andris leave, to only appear once again with a blood bag. He comes closer whilst tearing off the seal and gently leading the bag to my lips.
“Feed,” he orders. I could feel Liam watching me. Would it sicken him to watch me feed? I internally whimper at that thought. My hunger and primal instincts took over, forcing me to drink the metallic-flavored substance in humongous gulps.
Pulling away, I cautiously turned to Liam. and instead of disgust labeled upon his face, there was an intriguing emotion laying in his pale blue orbs.
Andris pulled my body close to his, “Well Gabriel,” Andris said sarcastically, “I can assure you one thing. My mate is not getting her wings before I claim her.”
