Chapter 52: Aki’s life as a human begins.

Aki’s Point of View

Aki went into his bedroom and then into the bathroom. He looked around and found a toothbrush and a toothpaste in one of the cabinets. He took them out and proceeded to brush his teeth. When he used to be an angel, he did not have to do these activities. However, now that he was a human he knew what he had to do. This was due to the fact that he had been near Rin for 16 years. He had watched and learned what humans did.

Well, he did not think that a day would come when he had to do all those.

After brushing, he rinsed his mouth and then washed his face. After that, he grabbed the towel and then dried his face. He then placed the towel back on the towel rail. He opened another cabinet and found face cream inside it. He opened the container and applied the cream to his face. After he was done, he walked out of the bathroom. He opened his closet and took out black jeans and a white shirt.

As he was changing into the clothes, his back started hurting a little. Precisely, it was the area where his wings had been. With this subtle pain, also came the pain he had felt when he saw Rin lying on the ground in the pool of blood.

He knew that she was alive but he still was worried about her.

As he put on his shirt, he noticed a light blue line on his wrist. He remembered that it had appeared when he promised Rin that he would be there for her no matter what. He looked at it and smiled as he remembered Rin smiling that night.

By then, he finished changing into the clothes. Before he walked to the kitchen, he grabbed a black blazer on the way out. Everything he needed was there.

So he started to think if banishing him into the human realm and turning him into a human was actually a punishment.

He took out two eggs from the fridge. He was hungry. And this was the first time he was feeling hunger. After he and Rin had watched Rin's mother cooking a lot of times, he knew what he had to do. He took out a bowl and cracked the eggs. He added some salt and some pepper. He put some oil on the pan and turned on the heat. He then whisked the egg. He also took out two strips of bacon. After the pan was heated, he emptied the bowl with the eggs on it and started to stir it. He was making scrambled eggs. After that, he added the two strips of bacon to it.

While he waited for a little to get the eggs and the bacon done, he turned on the coffee machine.

He then grabbed a plate and then placed the eggs and the bacon out on it. He also grabbed a fork and a knife. He then placed the plate on the dining table.

As he was about to sit down, he remembered that the coffee. So he went back to the kitchen counter while grabbing a mug. He poured the coffee and went to sit on the dining table.

After he sat down, he started eating the food.

*After a while*

Aki checked the time and it was 8: 30 am. One of the papers in the envelope included the details of his job and the location of his office. It was written that from his apartment, it was a ten minutes drive to the office. Since it was 8:30 am, he decided to leave after ten minutes. With that, he could reach his office with five minutes to spare.

If he was going to reach his office in ten minutes drive, it meant that he would have to drive a car. He searched around the house and as he expected, he found a car key on the table near the main door. With the key, there was a note.

It read, “Do not worry about it and just drive. Your body knows how to drive.”

Aki thought, “Umm okay? I guess?”

Then he took his car key, house key, and his laptop bag and was ready to go to his office.

Since everything was starting off well, Aki thought that this punishment was not too bad. Little did he know what was about to happen from now on.
