At noon the next day, Mary replaced all the bouquets in the living room with Diana. They were Olivia's favorite roses. The flowers had just been flown in from Holland early in the morning, and even the dew was fresh. Mary trimmed the spikes on roses and laughed, "It's been a long time since the home has been this lively." Jayden was busy at work during the day and rarely came home.
