LOGAN
As I pulled my car into the parking lot at North Hills my phone started ringing. I shut the car off and answered.
Logan: hey mom
Mom: hey honey, how are you?
I pause before answering.
Logan: I’m alright.. just about to go see grandma Kay for a little while.
Mom: oh good! She’ll love that. Hey listen, we are planning to attend Cades graduation in a few weeks. Will you be joining us?
I fidget with the bottom of my sweatshirt and chew on my bottom lip.
Logan: ..yeah. Of course I’ll be there.
Even though I had ended my relationship with Cade I wasn’t angry or hateful toward him this time. I truly wanted to see him succeed and have the best life. Do I regret ending things? Some days. What I miss more is having his friendship.
I can hear the joy on the other end of the line.
