Aria's POV:
Kael's roar echoed through the castle.
"ARIA!"
The strength of his voice shook the walls.
My heart stopped me. I rushed toward the door without thinking and Selene followed after me. She moved in front of me and crossed her two silver blades.
"You can't go out there."
I gave a frown.
"Kael might be injured."
"He knew precisely what he was doing calling your name," she said and her eyes me mine. "He is warning you."
Another blast rocked the room and ceiling dust fell down. The castle bells rang without stopping and I grabbed the dagger near my bed.
"I am not hiding while others battle."
Selene's expression changed.
"I figured you'd say that," she said and lowered her swords. "But you remain by my side if you're going to fight."
I nodded.
"Deal."
