Chapter 3Friedrich didn’t get around to checking the schedule until just after dinner; when he did, the whole jadehouse heard his resounding curse, and he immediately went into his most rigorous regimen of jaw stretches and checked his supply of mouthwash. Ahmed would murder him if he’d run out; thankfully, he hadn’t, the little bottle being about half full. He’d finished his dressing gown after lunch, and wore it as his uniform for his first night back at work, pleased at the feeling of satin on his bare skin. The red brought out the strawberry tones in his hair, as he’d hoped, and it looked wonderful on his skin as well, which was a lovely bonus. At the stroke of eight o’clock, the start of his first appointment, there came a familiar knock at his door. Friedrich opened it with a smile
