Chapter 1Exactly ninety-nine days after walking into the haunted house on the edge of town, Friedrich woke on his side to burning, wet kisses drizzling themselves onto his neck and down across his shoulders. “Mmm, morning,” he mumbled, batting a hand behind him at the incubus now licking a stripe up behind his ear. “Three minutes.”

“Yes, yes,” Friedrich grumbled good-naturedly, pushing himself to his feet and padding, naked as a jaybird, over to the dresser. It had long since been scrubbed clean of dust, and a bowl of nuts and a full canteen sat on top waiting for him.
