Fabrizio and Matilde (2)The morning was chilly. Fabrizio got out of his car and closed his coat more tightly as he made his way toward the school building. Once inside, he went straight to the teachers’ lounge, but Matilde wasn’t there, so he continued on to his classroom.
At the end of fourth period he took a break and, as he stood in front of the vending machine, stirring his coffee, he saw her: Matilde was coming down the stairs and he realized he could never want anyone else.
She joined him at the vending machines and smiled at him.
- Good morning, Matilde. If you want a cup of coffee you can have mine.
- Good morning to you! It depends on how much sugar you put in it.
