He paused, then added, “You can sit in my car, and I will drive.” He offered, but I shook my head. I would rather drive my own car than sit next to him in a small space. “I will drive my car. You can follow me if you like.” Finality rang in my tone when I said the words. Grey opened his mouth to argue but changed his mind. “Okay,” he curtly replied, letting me go. Without delay, I took the chance to climb into my car and locked the door. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Grey turn toward where he had parked his car. With a quick, long stride, he reached it and climbed inside. I secured my seatbelt before turning the ignition on. The engine roared to life, and I maneuvered the car onto the highway.
