Chapter ten - Maybe she is not that bad

2500 Words
Aaron's POV: I don't understand girls. It looks like Chloe wants to talk with me, but when her friends are around she is ignoring me. I understand why she is doing it, but I wish that we could talk normally. I don't even know when is the next time when I will see her. Well, except for school, but I don't know will she continue talking with me. Someone might see her and I know that she won't risk it. I have to admit that I liked the short time, which we spend in the mall two days ago. If I have to be honest, I could be myself and kiss her, but I didn't do it. I want her to trust me. The other things will come later.  In the morning, I woke up and looked at my phone. There were no new messages. I got out of bed and went into the bathroom. Later I got changed and went downstairs for food. This time Dani wasn't here. I might call him to see where he is. I haven't been to a party for the last couple of days so I might go to one. I don't know will he want to come with me. I can invite Chloe, but I am sure that she will deny it. She doesn't seem like a party type. Especially since it'll be on a school night.  I walked out of the house. I won't go to school right now. There are fewer people in the morning so I will walk around the town. I went to one park. It was empty, but I'm not surprised. I mean it's not even 7:30 am. Usually, I sleep more, but today I woke up early and since I had nothing to do at home. I decide to go out. I never go on time to school and I don't plan to do it.  I looked around the park and saw one person. It was a girl. I have never done it so early, but now I have a chance and I won't miss it. I carefully walked up to her. After all, I don't want to scare her. Otherwise, she might walk away. When I saw who the girl was, I left frozen. What is she doing here so early? I have another chance to talk with her, but I don't know will she want to.  - Good morning. I'm surprised to see you here.  She turned around and looked at me. I guess that she didn't expect me to be here.  - To you too. What are you doing here so early? - I want to ask you the same. I woke up early and had nothing to do at home. What about you? - I decide to come here for a while before I face school.  - Is there a problem in your school? Maybe with me.  - No. I mean people still talk about you, but that much. They calm down a little.  - Then why do you look upset? - Look, I didn't want to say it like that, but I'll do it anyway.  - Ok, I'm listening to you.  - I'm sorry for the way I treated you at the mall. I didn't want to hurt you. I just... I didn't want to have problems. Kayla might keep it, but I'm not sure about Katy. Sometimes she has a big mouth and I don't want the whole school to know about this. Just because they don't talk that much about you, it doesn't mean that they don't hate you. I hope that you can forgive me.  I didn't know that she cares about that. Is this what made her upset? I guess that some girls care even for the little things. I won't lie that I feel better after she said it. If I have to be honest, I wanted to make up with her as well. She is not my friend or something else, but for some reason no matter how many times I will talk with her, I will always want to do it again. She is from those people with who you can share everything and you know that they will listen, without criticizing you.  - It's fine. I'm not mad at you.  - Really? - she said and looked at me When I looked her in the eyes, I realize what she is dressed. I chuckled to myself. I didn't lie when I said that the hoodie emphasizes the color of her eyes.  - Yes. By the way, I like your clothes.  - Oh, um... thanks.  - Are you blushing? - I said chuckling - No, I just remembered why I wear this today.  - Can I know why? - I wanted to talk with you during my lunch break and thought that if I wear it, you might forgive me.  I couldn't hold it anymore and laugh. She is unbelievable. Chloe looked at me confused. I didn't say anything and continued laughing.  - Can you tell me what did I do? - Did you think that the hoodie will make me forgive you? - Well... yes, I did. Why? - What if you weren't wearing it? Chloe, if I am going to forgive you, it won't be because of your clothes. I will do it because you are nice and I know that you want it.  - I'm glad to hear it. Thank you. I have to go to school. Do you want to walk with me? -  What if someone sees you? - You will leave me one street before school. What do you say? - I agree. Let's go.  All the way, we were talking and laughing. Maybe she is not that bad. We change the topic to something serious and I noticed how she changed. The funny Chloe was gone and the serious one came. She was listening to everything that I say, without interrupting me. Something, which you won't see often. Then she said her point of view about things. I like the way she thinks. This girl can act like a kid, but I see the grown-up adult in her. Maybe her only problem is that she cares too much about everything. Things won't always happen the way you want and that's ok.  Soon we arrived and now it's the sad part. To be honest, I would love to talk more with her, but she will get late and I know that she won't like it. Maybe we can talk again one day. I don't know will she come on her lunch break. If she keeps doing this, it might get obvious.  - Well that was. I have to go.  - I know and since I ruined your weekend, I own you a favor.  - You didn't ruin my weekend and I don't need anything. - she said smiling - Are you sure? There is one thing, which I know that you want.  - And what is it? - Answers. I will tell you whatever you want but in one condition. You have to go out with me.  - What? - If you want to talk with me, you have to go out.  - Oh... I thought something else for a second. - she said and nodded her head - Well, if you want I can take you on a date as well. - I chuckled - No, thank you. I'm good.  - I'm not that bad, am I? - I asked and lifted her chin to make her look at me Chloe didn't say anything. We kept looking at each other for a while. What break it was her phone. She looked at the time and walked away. Why there is always something, which will ruin things? I started walking to my school. The distance between hers and mine is like 30 minutes of walking so I will be late again. Nothing new.  I walked into the classroom and sat next to Dani. He looked at me, but I didn't say anything. I will tell him what happened, but not now. At the end of the class, the teacher gave us our test results. Another C for me. This is very good with the fact that I don't study. I have more important things to do and Chloe is not one of them. She appeared later. Dani and I walked out to our lockers. He got what he needed and walked up to me. I see his want to know everything.  - You want me to tell you, don't you? - Yes, I do. Now spill the tea.  - I walked from home early and went to one park. There was only one person. Guess who. - No way. Was it Chloe? - Yes, it was she. We talked for a while. It was nice.  - Did something else happen? - Except the fact that she wanted me to walk with her to school. Well, I left her one street before the building. - She wanted you to walk her to school? - he asked surprised - Yes, that's what she wanted. I'm going to be stupid if I don't use this chance.  - How was it? - The whole time we were talking. I understood that she can be serious. Chloe is a good listener. She can act like a kid sometimes, but I see the adult in her. I don't know why, but with her, I feel comfortable. I mean that she is like you. No matter what I say, she never interrupted me or judged my opinion.  - She looks like a good girl.  - Because she is. The only thing is that we have to hide from her friends.  - Are you sure that there isn't something else? I haven't seen you talking like that about a girl for a while.  - There isn't anything else. As you can see I don't have her number, neither asked her out. If I wanted to, I could've done it, but I won't. Otherwise, she will walk away and I don't want that.  - Why do I think that you are falling for her? - Think twice. By the way, I was thinking to go on a party. Do you want to come with me? - Don't you remember what happened the last time when you went on a school night? - If you don't want, I'll ask Chloe. Probably she will deny it, but it's worth a try.  On my lunch break, I left. I wanted to see Chloe, but probably she won't come. I might ask her to the party. The chance she to deny the offer is high, but I still hope that she will accept. I grabbed coffee and sat on the small stairs. Soon I felt the presence and turned around to see that it was Chloe. I smiled at her and she returned it.  - Can I try it? - she asked, looking at my coffee - Sure, but I don't know will you like it.  - Let me decide that.  Chloe took a sip of my coffee and gave it back to me.  - Well, how was it? - It's good. Usually, I don't drink coffee, but this was ok.  - Hey, can I ask you something? Probably your answer will be no, but I still want to do it.  - Ok, go on. What do you want to ask me? - I think to go to a party tonight and I was wondering would you like to come with me? She looked at me without saying anything. I guess that the answer is no. Well, at least I tried. Maybe I should ask her on the weekend. Then there is no chance to tell me no, except if she doesn't like parties. - Forget it. Pretend that I didn't ask.  - What if I want to come? - What? Really? - I would come, but with some conditions.  - What are they? - At 10 pm I am leaving, I won't drink alcohol and if some boys start acting strange around me, I'll leave. The same is if I see someone from school.  - Deal. I guess that we are going to a party.  - When will you come to take me?  - You want me to take you? - Do you think that I will let you close to my house? Now seriously. When and where do you want us to meet? - How about 7 pm at the same park, where we met this morning? - Ok, I'll be there. In that case, I want to ask you for a favor.  - What is it? - To not make out in front of me. - she said and I laughed - I promise to not make out in front of you.  - Thank you.  - I will do it only if you do it too.  - Don't worry. I'm not attractive so the chances of a boy coming to me are low.  - That's not true. Otherwise, I wasn't going to be here.  - True. So to ask you. What is wrong with you? - she said laughing - Nothing. I just drank too much coffee. - Let's hope that it's only that.  - It's better if you don't know the rest. - I laughed Chloe looked at me and started laughing. Both of us were sitting and laughing for who knows how long. I love this girl. I mean that she is funny. Maybe we can be friends. I won't deny another one. Not like Dani is not enough, but with more friends is funnier.  - Nice talk, but I have to go.  - Already? - After ten minutes the lunch break will be over. I'm sorry.  - It's ok. I'll see you tonight.  - Yes, you will.  - Don't be late. Otherwise, I'll come and get you.  - But you don't know where I live. - I don't need to know.  - What? - Go now. We'll talk later. - I chuckled at her confusion - If you say so. Bye Aaron.  - Bye Chloe. - I said and she left I can't believe that she agreed to come with me to the party. This will be funny. At least for me. I don't know about her. I'm sure that she won't get drunk, but probably I will. I hope that I won't do something to her. Up to now, everything is good and I don't want to show her my party side. Not now. Soon or not she will see it, but I hope that it won't be tonight. I'm sure that I will have some company as well. Girls always come to me, but maybe I will stay close to Chloe. Just in case if someone tries on her. I have been to many parties and I know how boys work. Moreover, I do the same things. Let's see how this night will go.
