Maya woke up having a disturbing headache she checked the alarm clock beside her bed the time showed it was 8:30am she wondered why she did not hear the alarm which put for 7:00am she didn't let that bother her she got off from the bed and went to the bathroom after bathing and and getting ready for the day she left her room but for some reason the house seemed quiet " weird normally James would be banging at my door by now were is he no I shouldn't care he will just make my headache much worst" she went downstairs to the living room she was heading to the kitchen when her eyes caught a piece of paper close to the standing lamp she picked the paper and read through " i won't be back till tomorrow evening" Maya turned the back of the paper but could not find anything else " wait that's it he didn't even tell me where he is going I shouldn't expect much from him" she went to the kitchen and went to the waste bin and threw the paper away she then made herself a simple breakfast of bakon and eggs

after eating she went to the living room and turn on the TV she picked a series to watch after sometime she fell her asleep. Maya woke up to the buzzing of her phone she didn't check the caller before answering "hello" " hey Maya"

"sorry who is this" " it's me Rachel why does your voice sound that like this are you okay" " oh hi Rachel yeah am fine well no I don't feel okay" " then you should go for check up then" " okay why did you call" " just wanted know if you would like to hang out" Maya thought about it * sorry I can't am kind of busy lately" " it's fine am just bored just wanted to know Jason is not always around because he is always at work"

at the mention of Jason's name Maya became more interested " so he is a workaholic" " definitely he leaves for work very early and comes back very late everything about him scream work" Maya thought to herself at least he does something useful " Maya are you still there" " yes" " well then I will leave you to do your thing" "bye then have a good morning" " morning ? Maya it's three in the afternoon" this made stood up quickly but was met with a very painful headache "f**k" she held her head in pain " sorry what did you say" " Maya are you okay you should definitely go for a check up so am leaving you okay bye"

Maya had nothing else to say " okay bye"

this left Maya to pay attention to what was at hand and that is the severe headache she has right now she went to her room and immediately fell on the bed and slept off .

The next day Maya condition got worse she could barely leave the bed but she managed and got ready to leave for the hospital she got downstairs but met james in the living room Maya thought to herself " why is he back so early" James got to where Maya was and looked at her "where are you going to" " where have been" " it's non of your business I asked you a question" " what do you mean it's non of my business you left for a while day without telling me where you went you came back but your hair is a mess you re not dressed properly" " you are starting to get on my nerves" "you reek of alcohol James" " Maya just answer me" Maya shook her head " am going for a check up I don't feel okay" " so" " what do you mean so I just told you where am going and why" " I don't see that as a valid reason so go make me something am hungry" James walked pass Maya but Maya held him by his arm " James wait pleas..." this made James angry he turned back and held Maya's hand tightly " don't touch me" he pushed her this made maya fall and hit her stomach against the table near the couch making the lamp on top of the table to fall down Maya held her stomach and tried to decrease the extreme pain she felt from the a tear fell out from her eye but this is less of a concern to James who had already left the living room after a while Maya stood up and went to the kitchen to cook what James ordered she gathered all the strength she had and stood up but still she felt weak she went to the kitchen towards the counter she took a knife and held it tightly but she dropped it to the ground and slid down the counter and started crying.

at the dining table Maya served James his lunch and was about to leave when James stopped her " Maya did you see your mom without my permission" this made fear creep into her " no I didn't why" " she has been calling me for a while now she wants to talk to me that's why am back early to go see just know Maya if you tell anything to her about what goes on in this house I will kill both you and your mother okay" Maya did not answer " have I made myself clear" Maya shook her head "both mother and daughter are annoying" Maya then left to her room she decided that if James leaves to go see her mom she will go for the check up " I hope you don't give it away that you know what is going on mom". After James left Maya took a taxi to closest hospital she got in and went to the counter and was welcomed by a young nurse " good day ma'am how may I be of help to you" "good afternoon am here to take a test" " okay fill this form and I will meet you up with a doctor" after Maya filled the phone she met a doctor and he did a test on her he asked her to meet him in his office " good afternoon Mrs Claude " " good afternoon doctor" " so we carried out a test on you and the results show that you have high blood pressure your blood pressure is 160mmhg which is quite high this is often caused by strenuous activities and stress which can put pressure on the heart so what you need to do is reduce you heavy activities or work and make sure you are not stressed out alot also take adequate rest and sleep do you understand" " yes I understand" " if you don't do this it might lead to a more severe heart diseases so make sure to do what I ask you to do also you need to eat healthy if the symptoms still persist after all these come for a check up immediately okay" " okay" " that will be all" " thank you" she left the hospital and went home " thank goodness he is not back yet" she went to her room and fell on the bed " all these has made feel tired I will take a quick nap" she fell asleep but the doctor words did not stop playing In her head " what if it gets even worse what will I do then no stop it I should think positive thoughts and nothing more yes definitely" she then fell asleep.
