Kael’s POV
Elena said one last gentle goodbye and ended the call. I put the phone down and lay back on the mattress, confused and tired. I did not know what to do anymore. Then Leon suddenly became restless. Not the usual restless ache of wanting Sienna. This was different. Sharp. Urgent. Danger.
‘Mate,’ Leon growled. ‘Mate. Mate.’
I sat up immediately. My chest tightened. I felt it too. Sienna was in danger. I ran out of the garage and up to the apartment. The door was unlocked, but she was not inside. Her scent was fresh. Fear punched through me as I followed it outside. Leon pushed hard against my skin, fighting for control.
“Hold,” I warned him, but my own body was already trembling.
