41 The Weight Of Us 2

939 Words

Kael’s POV My vision burned red because I knew. Before I even turned, I knew who he was talking to. My head snapped towards the sound, and rage tore through me so hard I nearly broke the bottle in my hand. The bastard was pouring beer on Sienna. She stood there drenched and humiliated, and she did nothing. My mate, my woman, the proud girl who had once looked at the world like it owed her something, stood there taking it because this pack had beaten shame so deep into her that she had forgotten she was allowed to fight back. Maya shoved the man away from her, and he slapped Maya too. Everything inside me snapped. I moved before I could think. I crossed the diner, grabbed the man, and dragged him outside like he weighed nothing. He cursed and struggled, but I did not hear him properly.
