I found Maya crying on the chair with her phone lying in her lap. I knew she was holding in a lot, but I did not realise how bad it had become until then. I went to sit beside her and held her. “He will come around,” I said, hugging her. Maya sobbed harder. “Let me sleep on your couch, Sienna,” she pleaded. “I do not want to be by myself, so I do not do something stupid. Please.” “I will discuss it with Kael,” I assured her. “He is already getting the other apartment fixed for you, but I will talk to him about it.” Maya nodded, wiping her face. “I called Darius, and he rejected my call thirteen times,” she cried. I stared at her because I did not even know how she managed to call someone that many times and keep counting. “How many times have you tried his number today?” I asked.
