Kael’s POV
I was genuinely happy to see Sienna reunite with her brother.
There was a new light in her eyes after Nolan returned, something soft and relieved that had not been there before. I did not realise how badly she needed one person from her family to come back to her until I saw the way she hugged him. It made me understand that no matter how much love I gave her, there were parts of her that still ached for the people who had raised her. I could not fix that by myself. Nolan coming back did something for her that I could not do, and I was grateful for it.
Nolan had also promised me he would keep Maya from sleeping in our apartment, and so far, he was doing his part. He took her to her doctor’s appointments, kept her occupied, listened to her talk about Darius until even I pitied
