After I grabbed my belongings, I collared Ashley and Michael, and both sets of their parents. I informed them we would begin the journey to the restaurant shortly. I also let them know about the fresh addition to our party. They all seemed fine — ecstatic, in fact — with the fact that Hunter would join us.
No-one seemed more excited than Ashley, though. She kept nudging me and winking at me throughout the whole short walk towards the restaurant. She claimed that the only reason Hunter accepted the invitation to dinner was that I was going to be there. I hastened to assure her I knew he was going to accept in the end because my mum was the one who was asking. Mum always got her way.
