The Woman Inside Her

Episode 3: The Woman Inside Her Darkness. Endless darkness surrounded Lin Yue. She couldn’t move. Couldn’t speak. Couldn’t even feel her own body. Then she heard footsteps. Slow. Deliberate. Echoing through the void. Tap. Tap. Tap. Lin Yue opened her eyes. She found herself standing in an unfamiliar place. Ancient stone pillars stretched endlessly into the distance. A blood-red moon hung above her. The air smelled of flowers and death. “Where am I?” A soft laugh answered her. Lin Yue spun around. The silver-eyed woman stood behind her. The same woman from her vision. The same woman who looked exactly like her. Her crimson wedding dress flowed in the cold wind. For a moment, Lin Yue felt as though she were staring into a mirror. Except the woman looked older. Stronger. And infinitely more dangerous. “You finally arrived.” Lin Yue took a step backward. “Who are you?” The woman’s smile deepened. “You already know.” “No, I don’t.” The woman slowly approached. Every step felt unnaturally graceful. “I am the reason Mo Chen became a monster.” Lin Yue frowned. “What does that mean?” The woman’s silver eyes darkened. “Three hundred years ago, I was his bride.” A chill shot through Lin Yue’s body. “What?” The woman stopped. Her expression became strangely sad. “He loved me.” The words echoed through the empty world. “He loved me more than heaven itself.” Lin Yue struggled to understand. “If you were his bride…” Her eyes widened. “Then why does he want me?” The woman laughed softly. “Because you are me.” Silence. Lin Yue stared. “What?” “You carry my soul.” The world seemed to stop. “No.” “It’s true.” “That’s impossible.” The woman raised her hand. Suddenly dozens of images appeared around them. Ancient memories. A beautiful young woman laughing beneath cherry blossoms. Mo Chen standing beside her. Holding her hand. Smiling. Actually smiling. Lin Yue had never imagined the Demon King capable of such warmth. The images continued. The couple walking through moonlit gardens. Dancing beneath lanterns. Sharing secret kisses. Living a life filled with love. Then everything changed. The sky turned black. Fire consumed the heavens. Demons and immortals clashed in a catastrophic war. Thousands died. Entire kingdoms vanished. The woman appeared once more. Standing before Mo Chen. Tears streaming down her face. “I have to do this.” Mo Chen shook his head desperately. “No.” “It’s the only way.” The woman smiled sadly. Then she stabbed herself through the heart. Blood covered the ground. Mo Chen screamed. The vision shattered. Lin Yue gasped. Her chest hurt. As though she had personally experienced the pain. The silver-eyed woman looked away. “That was the day I died.” The sadness in her voice felt genuine. For a moment, Lin Yue almost pitied her. Almost. Then she remembered something. “Wait.” The woman turned. “If you died three hundred years ago…” Lin Yue narrowed her eyes. “Why are you inside me?” The woman’s smile returned. Because I never truly left.” Fear gripped Lin Yue’s stomach. “What do you mean?” The woman stepped closer. “Our souls were connected.” “No.” “Every generation of your family carried a fragment of me.” Lin Yue’s face paled. “Why?” The woman’s expression became dark. “Because I refused to disappear.” The ground trembled. The sky above cracked. Silver energy exploded around the woman. And suddenly Lin Yue understood. This wasn’t merely a spirit. This was something much worse. Something ancient. Something powerful. Something trapped. The woman smiled. “And now…” Her eyes glowed brightly. “The prison is breaking.” ⸻ Outside. In the real world. Mo Chen stood beside Lin Yue’s unconscious body. The apartment had become completely silent. The silver-eyed woman’s spirit floated above them. Watching. Smiling. The Demon King’s expression remained cold. Yet inside, fury burned. “You shouldn’t have awakened.” The spirit laughed. “Did you miss me, my king?” His crimson eyes flashed. “Do not call me that.” The spirit tilted her head. “Still angry?” The room shook. Dark energy exploded from Mo Chen. Every shadow in the apartment came alive. “You died.” The spirit smiled. “So did your heart.” The Demon King’s aura intensified. The entire building trembled. Far below, people screamed as windows shattered. But the spirit remained calm. Almost amused. “You still love me.” “No.” The answer came instantly. The spirit laughed harder. “What a terrible liar.” Mo Chen’s gaze darkened. “If you touch her…” “Her?” The spirit interrupted. A dangerous smile crossed her lips. “You mean my body?” The temperature dropped instantly. The Demon King’s expression became murderous. “She is not yours.” The spirit looked genuinely curious. “Then whose is she?” Neither spoke. The silence itself became an answer. The spirit’s eyes widened slightly. Then she smiled. A cold smile. “Oh.” For the first time, anger appeared in her eyes. “You’ve fallen in love again.” Mo Chen remained silent. That silence confirmed everything. The spirit’s smile disappeared completely. The room exploded with silver flames. “How dare you.” Her voice no longer sounded human. “She is me.” “No.” The Demon King’s voice became deadly. “She is Lin Yue.” The spirit screamed. The sound shattered every remaining piece of glass. Silver energy surged throughout the apartment. The battle had begun. ⸻ Inside the spiritual world. Lin Yue felt the ground shaking beneath her feet. The silver-eyed woman suddenly looked upward. Frowning. “He’s fighting.” Lin Yue blinked. “Who?” “Mo Chen.” The woman sounded annoyed. “He never listens.” Lin Yue hesitated. “Did he really love you?” The question surprised even her. The woman’s expression softened. For a brief moment. “More than his own life.” Lin Yue’s heart tightened. “And you?” The woman smiled sadly. “I loved him too.” Silence followed. Then Lin Yue asked the question haunting her mind. “If you loved each other…” Her voice became quiet. “Why did you die?” The woman froze. Pain flickered across her face. For the first time. Real pain. The kind that never truly healed. “Because I betrayed him.” Lin Yue’s eyes widened. “What?” The woman looked away. “Three hundred years ago, I made a choice.” The air became colder. “A choice that destroyed everything.” Before Lin Yue could ask more— The world suddenly cracked. Massive fractures appeared across the sky. The spirit’s expression changed instantly. “No.” The cracks spread rapidly. Boom! Boom! Boom! The entire realm began collapsing. “What is happening?” The spirit cursed. “He’s breaking through.” A second later— Dark flames erupted from the sky. Crimson lightning followed. The heavens shattered. And a familiar figure descended from above. Mo Chen. The Demon King had entered the spiritual realm. Lin Yue’s heart nearly stopped. He landed before her. Power radiating from every inch of his body. His crimson eyes immediately found hers. “Are you hurt?” The question stunned her. Of all the things he could ask— That was his first concern. Lin Yue shook her head. “I’m okay.” Relief flashed across his face. Only for a second. But she saw it. The spirit saw it too. And she hated it. Her silver eyes darkened. “You never looked at me like that.” Mo Chen didn’t even turn toward her. “Because I trusted you.” The spirit flinched. The words hit harder than any weapon. Pain crossed her face. Genuine pain. But it quickly became rage. Silver flames exploded around her. “I did what I had to do.” “You betrayed everyone.” “I SAVED THEM!” The spirit screamed. The entire realm shook violently. Lin Yue stared. Confused. What was she talking about? Saved who? From what? Before anyone could answer— A new voice echoed across the spiritual world. Deep. Ancient. Monstrous. And filled with hunger. “Found you.” Everyone froze. Even Mo Chen. The spirit’s face turned pale. Fear filled her eyes. Actual fear. Then the sky split open. A gigantic eye appeared above them. Watching. Waiting. Smiling. The eye was larger than a mountain. Black. Endless. Evil. Lin Yue’s blood turned cold. “What is that?” Nobody answered immediately. Because they were all staring at the eye. The eye that should not exist. The eye that belonged to the true nightmare. Finally, Mo Chen spoke. And for the first time— Lin Yue heard fear in his voice. “The Devourer.” The giant eye blinked. The world trembled. And a horrifying laugh echoed through eternity. “You cannot hide the girl forever, Demon King.” Lin Yue’s heart nearly stopped. The eye slowly focused on her. Not Mo Chen. Not the spirit. Her. A smile formed within the darkness. “At last…” The voice echoed across the heavens. “I have found the Final Vessel.” The sky shattered. And everything went dark. End of episode 3
