The mind-link message should have put fear in me.
The unspoken yet obvious promise behind Kade’s demand that I be brought in alive—probably so he could torture and kill me himself—should have had me regretting my actions.
Instead, I just felt…light. Relieved, even.
A satisfied smirk played on my lips as I drove, a hastily packed bag in my backseat.
I’d known after I dropped that box last night that it was only a matter of time before Kade discovered what I had done.
