Melissa stared at her mother for a while. She didn't know what to think. This woman hadn't deemed it important to visit her while she was in the hospital so why was she here now?
"Mother," she said coldly which surprised both of them. Melissa had been searching for her mother's approval for so long that she would never have dared to disrespect her, or be cold towards her.
"Melissa, I was so worried–" Veronica started but Melissa quickly interrupted her.
"So worried that you didn't have time to come and see me when i was in the hospital?" she asked her mother in disgust.
The woman's expression changed. It became angry. "Watch your words girl," she said.
"Mama, I've been watching my words with you since I was five. I'm not sorry if I'm tired of it. It's high time I outgrew that," Melis
