Melissa woke up disoriented. She looked around and noticed the stark white walls and the fluorescent light. This wasn't a room she recognized. She closed her eyes then opened them again with sheet effort. That was when she looked to her side. There was an IV stuck in her hand. She lifted the hand gingerly and winced. It hurt. So she put it back down and continued her visual exploration of the room. It was bare. And cold. Like any other hospital room. But there was a door in the room. Melissa assumed (and correctly) that it was a bathroom. She turned her gaze upwards and was stunned to see Aiden, sleeping in a cot that didn't seem too comfortable. She widened her eyes and gasped.
