EPISODE THREE: REVELATION

1576 Words
CHOLE "The chosen one." I hear a muffled voice beside me—a man's voice; it sounds like a man is lying beside me on the bed. I feel strong fingers tracing a pattern around my shoulder, specifically the tattoo. My eyes fly open, and I jerk slightly. I lock eyes with the lightest shade of brown eyes I've ever seen; they're so brown you'd almost think they're grey. He has perfect, cupid's bow-shaped lips, pink and plump. He's insanely handsome, and he looks exactly like the man I see in my dreams, the only difference being that he has brown, curly hair instead of black, wavy hair. I can feel my entire body heat up from his intense stare. He's not lying with me; he's standing beside the bed, leaning down towards me. My eyes roam his muscular arms, which are resting on the bed, and his ripped body is evident through the light gray singlet he's wearing. I look down at my bare shoulder and instinctively raise the bedsheets up to look underneath. I'm naked. 'Where are my clothes?' I look around the strange surroundings. 'Where am I?' He slowly straightens himself and points to my clothes, which are discarded in a corner of the room—a room that's not mine. 'Over there. I had to ensure there was nothing on you that could lead the rogue beasts to us.' I try to lift myself higher, but I feel a sharp pain in my arm. It's not the kind of pain I should feel from the ruthless attack I had just suffered from a beast; it's a little less. 'Relax.' I didn't know there was someone else in the room. I turn my head slightly in the direction of the voice. A tall, slender woman is smiling at me. 'I'm Makisha, the leader of the Shewolves of Moonfang Pack. You will feel better in a few hours; you just have to drink the last portion of your medicine.' She walks towards me with a substance in a cup, which I suspect is medicine. 'I'm not taking that.' I protest immediately. 'Please hand me my clothes.' 'You can't wear any clothing until you're fully healed,' the annoyingly hot man answers from the other end of the room. 'And who are you?' 'I'm Nick Bloodwood, second son of the Alpha of Moonfang Park.' He's so boastful. 'Okay, I don't know what's going on here, but I really have to get going.' 'You can't.' Makisha sits on the bed. 'You can't leave. You're our savior, the mark on your shoulder is the sign of the chosen child destined by the moon goddess to save our pack from extinction. You can use your powers and save us from the rogue beasts. You're one of us.' I've never been a fan of werewolf fiction, so I have absolutely no idea what she's saying. 'We have been watching you for the past three days and waiting for your transformation to happen so that you can fully possess your lycan powers.' 'Three days? I have to go home and meet my mother.' I'm about to jump off the bed when I remember I'm naked, and this smoky brown-eyed stranger is still staring at me. I remain still and clutch the bedsheets tighter around my chest. 'That's impossible.' Nick moves towards us, confusion etched on his face. She looks at him with an equally stunned expression on her face. 'That means Candice must really possess strong sorcery.' She turns to me. 'Your mother was kidn*pped by the leader of the rogue beasts two years ago and held captive ever since; whatever you have lived with all this while was just a transfiguration of her spirit.' 'That's not true. I saw my mother this morning...I mean, three mornings ago.' 'Try and remember, did anything symbolic happen two years ago?' 'Uhm...we moved into a hidden cabin in the middle of the forest.' Nick tells Makisha. 'That's when she left her. Candice must have used some special powers to hide her form from our eyes and that of the rogue beasts.' 'But she's visible now, and the only way she can be safe is here with us.' 'I don't believe anything you people are saying. I have to go back home.' Nick glares at me. 'There is nothing under the moon that will make us allow you to leave this pack. You think if that rogue beast that had attacked you earlier had sensed you were the chosen one, you'd still be breathing. They are doing everything possible to make sure the prophecy is not fulfilled.' His expression is softer and more understanding. 'Your last hope of seeing your mother is by leading us to her; she is the only person who knows the whereabouts of the amulet. We will save your mother and our entire pack. The only thing you have to do is have your shift and unlock your powers. We will fix the amulet in the ancient seal and send the rogue beasts back to Hades, where they belong, and all the powers of the amulet will purify our pack. There will be no more death or suffering.' I breathe in and whisper to him, 'I'm just a regular teenage girl. I have no powers.' Nick squeezes my hand reassuringly, and I feel an electric spark. He feels it too, because he immediately redraws his hand. 'We will help you. The Moonfang Pack will help you discover your powers. Tonight, we will officially introduce you to the Alpha's council and the entire Moonfang Pack at moonlight during the Claw Feast.' He bows respectfully before leaving the room with Makisha. I sink deeper into the bed, which is quite comfy, by the way. I need a few hours of rest so that I can plot my escape from this...this place. The best time to escape will be when the werewolves are drinking and merrymaking and doing whatever werewolves do at a Claw Feast. My rest is interrupted when a high-pitched female giggle fills the room. 'Chole!' I hear the voice scream in excitement before a heavy weight jumps on me. I drowsily open my eyes to find a gray-eyed girl squatting on me. She's pretty and has a striking resemblance to Nick. "The chosen one!" She shakes my arm, and I groan in feign pain. "So sorry." She rolls over and sits on the bedside me. The big smile on her face never leaves. "I'm princess Olivia, daughter of Alpha Bloodhood." I prop myself upward with an elbow and pull the sheets further upwards to cover my exposed chests. Olivia rolls her eyes at me. "I'm Chole." She nods and signals me to say more. I look around, unsure of what more to say. "The chosen one." She says on my behalf. "We have waited so long for you, since 300 decades ago. I've heard the prophecy of the chosen one since I was a child." She jumps from the bed and stands beside the bed and waves her hands dramatically. "A chosen child will be born from the womb of a virgin shewolf, she will have a mark on her shoulder imprinted by the moon goodness. She will restore the glory of the moonfang pack with the power of her amulet!" I smile at her. "I have no power." She jumps back on the bed. "You're still a teen; you will have your shift very soon." "I'm an adult. I'm eighteen." "EighTEEN." She stresses the last syllable. "I'm nineteen." She folds her arm across her chest and beams with pride. She continues talking nonstop. "Today, you will meet the entire pack. You have met my elder brother Nick already. The kindest, sweetest big brother anyone could ask for." Kind? I raise a brow. "Nick was rude to me!" She laughs. "If you think Nick is rude, wait till you meet my eldest brother, Alex." I groan. "There's more of you?" "Alex is the black wolf of the family." I nod. "He's literally the black wolf of the family." "Okay." "He's wolf is black." "I get it." I shout at her. "Alex is not totally bad, but until you know absolutely everything about the pack, Alex is the last person you should hang out with." She warns in a very deadly tone, and I'm so scared. She's smiling again. "Guess what?" "What?" I ask dryly. "We share an adorning room. I can come in anytime, and you can come over too." She points to the adjourning door. Can today get any worse? "I've stocked your wardrobe with the fanciest clothes under the moon. What are you wearing to the claw feast?" She walks towards the closet, and I know if I don't get rid of her now, I may never do. "I'm tired. Can I get at least two hours of rest?" She frowns at me, and I think it may have hurt her feelings, but she's smiling again. "Oh, who am I to stop the chosen one from resting? Sweet dreams!" She sprints out of my room and into the adjourning room. I walk towards the adjourning door and lock it shut. I lock the main entrance to my room before returning to the bed. I pull the sheets over my shoulder and whisper to myself. "Finally some peace and quiet." I drift into dreamland, only that it's not peaceful because I dream about this extremely handsome black haired stranger. Again!
