Grace White's POV: A few days later, at four in the morning, a nurse helped me into a wheelchair. "Ms. White, remember our agreement. You can only go around the courtyard downstairs," the nurse reminded me. I smiled and nodded. The moment the nurse was out of sight, I steered my wheelchair out of the hospital. I hailed a wheelchair-accessible taxi and rode all the way back to the entrance of our old neighborhood in Alderidge.
