Settle.

I am at the most confusing times of my life. The vitamins are driving me crazy, I lost my virginity, got engaged and got pregnant in a period of two months. Everything has been so fast, but I have all the right people around me.

Life is still normal, Coop is always around but casually disappears for deals. We have decided to keep quiet about the pregnancy, we will tell our friends when I start showing. I do not know what that means because my stomach is no longer flat and I am starting to stress. School is in a few weeks, my textbooks have been sent over to me so I might be ready.

Coop has turned our bedroom into a comfort zone, there are different kinds of pillows in every space. I have neck pillows, back pillows, leg pillows.. You name it. My diet has changed, I do not want to even eat meat anymore, I find it too filling. To be honest, our bed has become my paradise.

"Knock knock?"

"Jake? Come in"

"Oh, you are looking cozy in your lounge wear, how are you?"

"Good, how are you?"

"Not too bad. You look puffy, are you sick?"

"Oh, just allergies, my nose is acting up"

I stand up and rush to the bathroom to blow my nose, I actually forgot that the clothes I am wearing are tight.

"Adelaide, what is happening? You are gaining weight"

"Jake, seriously?"

"I know you"

"Fine. You promise you will not tell anyone?"

"You are pregnant, I knew it"

"As if you did not already know"

"I knew it before you found out, Coop has been s**t scared, especially because you started vomiting and all. He knew"

"Wow, men and hiding things so well"

"Uncle Jay, sounds perfect"

"Oh s**t, you can have the baby when it is born"

"Sure, we will all give you a break"

Jake comes closer and hugs me, he looks me straight into the eyes and still does not let go. I will not lie, it feels really good to be in his arms. Or maybe, I am just hormonal?

"Even if Coop has taken you, you are mine forever. Even my new girlfriend stands no chance"

"What happened to Mary?"

"She got too boring for me, I needed someone like you"

"Who?"

"Jordan"

I changed my face. Jordan? No way.

"Oh, we are friends"

"I know, she told me how excited she is about it. She will never get my time like you do"

"Jake, you realize I am pregnant, right?"

"Yes, that is my baby too. Relax"

"Okay"

He kisses me. He stops to see if I am not fine with it, but I pull him in for more. Oh my God, what am I doing? I already feel terrible for even doing this to Coop, but why does it feel so good? He kisses better than my man, I do not understand any of this at all.

"Are you okay?"

I just nod, I am now embarrassed to even look at him. What is going on?

"Look, I am deeply in love with you. Coop will never know about this, I mean, he is never here with you. I am."

"Are you taking advantage?"

"Never. I wish we could switch places though. Did you know that Coop and Jordan have slept together? I was there, it was a small party at our boy's house"

I cannot believe my ears, why do I even have this baby inside me?

"I do not mean to gossip, but I hate hiding anything from you, you have such a good heart. I cannot believe that he is making the two of you hang out as friends, and he has dipped his d**k inside her"

"I do not know how to feel right now, why is he doing this to me?"

Coop comes into the bedroom, with the biggest smile on his face and happy to see the both of us.

"Jake, have you been taking care of my wife? You are not making her cry, right?"

"Never, I care for her as my sister, she deserves all the love that she can get right now"

"Good, I like that"

The two of them hug each other, I am just sitting on the bed, confused.

"Baby, Jordan is here to see you. Should I let her in?"

"Oh, where did you see each other? I thought she would call me"

"I just saw her when I was driving in, I think she had just arrived"

Jake and I looked at each other, everything has become easier to r******w that I know the truth. I told Coop to let her in, I know Jake will not leave the room and will not move from where he was sitting initially.

"Hey Adi!"

"Hey girl, how are you?"

"I am good thank you, how are you?"

"Fine.."

She hugs her boyfriend, who gives her a rather quick and cold hug. She sits on the couch next to Coop.

"Why are we in the bedroom?"

"My wife needs to rest and be away from noise sometimes"

"Oh I understand, what have you been up to Coop?"

They go on talking and I am starting to boil inside. Jake keeps rubbing my back, making sure that I don't snap. I get up and go to the bathroom, I am irritated. Jake is uneasy because he feels the same way, I can hear them talking but I do not hear what they are saying exactly.

I come back and find Jordan with her face in her palms, crying.

"Why is she crying?"

"Oh, I just wanted to find out when she would tell me that she is sleeping with my friend"

"Which friend, Jake?"

"This one, your future husband"

"What? Jordan??"

Coop stands up and tries to touch me, but I get away from him and storm out of the room. He runs after me, I am heading for the car.

"Baby, please"

"You lied to me. You went ahead and let us become friends. What did you expect to get? A threesome?"

"Baby, I am so sorry. It was a one-time thing, we were both drunk and I made it clear to her that I have someone"

"Was it before or after I came here?"

"It was a month after you had already been here. The night when the boys and I came back noisy and drunk"

"Oh yeah, the night when you did not want to touch me"

"I felt really dirty baby, I have been feeling guilty about it"

"Guilty? Last time I checked, she is 'sweet thing' to you"

"I do not want any bad blood between me and her, she knows I love you and she will never try it again"

"Had Jake not brought it up, when would you break it to me? Now I am friends with someone who banged my man"

"Baby, I was going to tell you. I did not want to stress you, you are with child and you do not need stress"

"Are you not stressing me now? What is the difference? Was it good?"

"What are you talking about baby?"

"The s*x, was it good?"

"I cannot say yes, I was really drunk and it did not even last long. I do not even think of her out of her clothes, it was a very stupid mistake"

"Yeah, I bet"

I get into the car and drive off, I need to get some air. I drive to a café around the suburb, it is very calm and the ambiance is refreshing. I sit in a corner where I cannot be seen, and I start to quietly sob. Is this what I have come here for? To become someone's wife and cry? I cannot even tell mom because she is going to hate Coop for this.

My phone keeps ringing, Jake and Coop are blowing it up. I am not sure that I want to talk to anyone. I just want to drink my milkshake and forget about my troubles right now. I sit in silence for about thirty minutes, until Jake shows up. He calls Coop and tells him where I am.

"Baby, I am sorry. Please forgive Coop, at least? He did not mean for any of this to happen. Jordan is the one who forced herself onto him, she told me"

"I already forgave them both, there is no use in being angry"

"I know that, but please be fine?"

"I am fine"

He sits next to me and hugs me, I guess I will get over it. Coop arrives and goes down on his knees. He has red roses and a Cartier box.

"My wife, I know that gifts and flowers are not going to mend a broken heart. Please forgive me. With these roses, I want you to know that you are as bold and unbreakable as they are, ever so red and full of love. You always smell amazing and I can never get enough of your scent. Please forgive me"

This is so sweet, my eyes are even starting to tear up. Jake is smiling at both of us, rubbing my back while Coop says his speech.

"With this necklace, please know that these three pendants mean something to me. The lock means that you will forever be locked in my heart, even if you decide to leave me. The cross means that I will forever pray for a beautiful and better life with you and our babies. The rose, you know what that means"

"Baby, get up, I forgive you and I will never leave you. I was upset with you, but everyone makes mistakes"

"Thank you baby, I will never do you wrong again, it was a stupid mistake"

"Let us not talk about it again baby, we have a baby on the way, that is what we should be talking about"

"You are right"

He puts his head on my tummy and hugs me around the waist. I hope it really will not happen again, and I am not going to be friends with Jordan anymore, that ship has sailed.

I just remembered that my doctor's appointment is in a few hours, after such a long morning. Coop has asked me out to dinner after the appointment, I have agreed.
