The One Who Slips Into My Life

They arrived at the Frank's Diner as Lara insisted to go there. Daniel already had a plans in his head for tonight with romantic candle light dinner, a dessert tour, walking down the side road, enjoying the night but this women just throw everything out of window. That's her charm on him.

They enter and take a seat. Daniel looking around and Lara notices it.

'Your first time?' asks Lara while her eyes focuses on the menu.

'For this place? Yes. For the diners? I've been plenty of it. It just, you don't looks like someone who will hang out here' That answer why Daniel looks 'anxious'.

A smile escapes Lara's lips. Little did she know how that smiles makes Daniel's heart skips a beat.

'And how do I actually look in your eyes, Mr-Know-Everything?' Lara crosses her hand and her eyebrows lifts slightly.

'Very feminine. But in the strong sense. You looks icy cold but warm inside. A woman who knows what she wants. Acts protective but still want to be protected' His warm gaze brings a weird feelings inside Lara's heart. But she don't want Daniel to notice it.

'That's a lot of TMI on me. Should we order?' Lara tries to chase the feelings away.

They chats over the meal. It's their first time sitting and talking about everything. A small laughter accompany their conversation. Daniel more into telling funny stories about people around him.

'Please don't tell me this story again. My stomach hurts.' Lara bursts when Daniel tells a story about himself having shower with a frog. Daniel tells how his eyes met with the frog's while he naked. That slimey and gooey creature.

'Daniel, do you really have to keep your identity a secret? Sort of James Bond kinda thing?' Lara really wants to know. She must know who is going to be her friends.

Daniel fingers signs for Lara to come closer. Looks like Daniel will tell a really confidential things to her.

'Not a James Bond. But more like his side kicks'

Lara takes a look at Daniel with a suspicious look. She can't guess if Daniel is telling the truth or lie to her.

Daniel raises his shoulder. Lara's face tells him that she don't believes him.

'After all the stories, I don't know if I want to believe in you or not' Lara shakes her head. Daniel laughs and insists what he told her is true.

After a good time, they head back home. Daniel opens the door for Lara and offer his hand to help Lara out. Naturally, Lara accepts his hand.

They both standing facing each other. Inside, no one wants to go. How they wants to freeze the time.

'Thank you for the treat. Next time will be my turn' says Lara.

'Lara, I have a good time tonight and it's all thanks to you' Daniel's warm gaze and charming voice soothes Lara. She already fell in love.

'I'll see you around the town then?' asks Lara. She wants to know when their next 'date'.

'About that...' all of sudden, Daniel seems hesitates. He's avoiding Lara's eyes. His fingers fidgeting. Lara patiently waiting.

'I have to go to Italy for a month. I'm afraid we can't see each other that often' Daniel hesistantly tells Lara. He can see Lara's hurt feelings.

"When?"

"Tomorrow morning is my flight. That's why I want to see you tonight"

"It's your 'sidekick' job isn't it?"

Daniel slowly nods. Only God knows how much he wants to stay. He finally gets Lara to open up with him but he had to leave.

"Well, my offer valids for 2 months. So, make sure you'll be in town by that time" Lara don't wants to show her dissapointment by Daniel's sudden announcement.

Lara walks to her house when Daniel suddenly passes her and stand in front of her.

He holds Lara's hand firmly with their eyes connecting. He have to do this.

He moves his hand to cup Lara's cheek. His eyes looks into Lara's, trying to ask for a permission. He laid his thumb on her lips to see if she’d pull away. She didn’t. Lara's small nod gives a signal to Danial.

He slowly leaned down and kissed her gently, carefully. Lara closed her eyes as she savoring this moment. The first time they kissed. Her hands laid on Daniel's neck.

The smell of Daniel's hypnotic beyond reason. Her body tingled as his arms wrapped around her waist. Daniel pulled her in, claiming her mouth again.

As if time stopped right there, as if no one else existed and there is no risk of her parents watching the show behind the curtain.

Finally, they come to their sense. Lara shyly smiled as Daniel brings her chin up for their eyes to meet. A dimple showed. Daniel leaned forward and planted his kiss on Lara's forehead.

'Just so you know, the very next time we meet, I can't guarantee I can control myself just like tonight' Daniel's teases brings a whole blood rush to Lara's face.

They said goodbye and with hope one month will pass quickly.
