"Is it weird that I'm jealous of Margaret and Marjorie?" I blurted the question that had been circling my head since reading about Adrian's date on Radiant Spring's community's chat group.
"As in your two old neighbours who have somehow overshadowed your relationship with the love of your life by blowing up one insignificant date to the point that every small-town news channel is falling over themselves to cover it?" Derby's deadpan delivery did nothing to hide her amusement.
"Thanks for reminding me about all that," I scowled at my best friend as she fought to suppress a grin. She'd been reveling in the news— and my unexpected reaction to it— since it broke.
