AYANA went downstairs while carrying her luggage. The brown envelope was in her hand. She was leaving now. She realized she shouldn’t insist on herself to the place where she doesn’t belong.
Manang Belen’s eyes widened when she saw her. “Where are you going, Ayana?”
“I am leaving now, Manang.” She can still feel the heartache but she refused to entertain it. She has to be brave. “Where’s Gavin?”
“He went out with Sophia.”
She took a deep breath. She arrowed the brown envelope to Manang and she accepted it. “Please, give that to Gavin.” She sighed and hugged Manang Belen. “I will miss you, Manang Belen.”
