Alone But Not Always

On the Move

Nova POV:

Once shifted, I laid down for Bella to get on my back. When I knew she was on, I took off, not going as fast. I could feel Bella getting comfortable. after running for hours, the sun is almost up, and I'm starting to get tired. Slowing down to look for a good place to rest. Listening for water, I headed to it.

I found a beautiful waterfall. It looked like a nice, safe place to rest. I walked over to get some water, I didn't realize how trusty I was until now.

Anna: Should we shift so you can rest or rest now until Bella wakes?

Nova: She needs as much rest as she can get. I'll just lay down until she wakes.

Anna: Okay, I'll keep watch while you rest.

Walking over to a big tree, I laid down slowly so I wouldn't shift Bella.

Anna POV:

I took control so Nova could get some much needed rest. I can't believe how much that has happened since we ran. We have covered a lot of distance and fought rouges. I knew we would run into them, but I didn't think we would pick up anyone else. There is a part of me that feels like we are doing the right thing, taking Bella with us, and I am okay with that. I want to help anyone who needs it.

The sun broke through the trees when Bella started to wake. Bella climbed off my back, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. I could see she was still tired. Shifting back, I grabbed a shirt from the bag to wear.

Anna: I think we should take a bath, to help us relax.

Bella: That would be great, I don't remember the last time I felt clean.

Grabbing some soap and shampoo out of the bag, we got in the water. Damn this water is cold but refreshing. I couldn't quit looking around. If we could stay here, I would, but it's not possible.

Anna: Bella, I am going to look behind the waterfall.

Bella: Okay, I will keep watch.

Behind the waterfall, I found a small opening. It took me a few tries to climb in, it lead to a small cave, enough room for me and Bella to rest, so we aren't in the open. Coming back out, Bella is standing there shaking. I pull Bella into a hug to comfort her. She must have thought I left her.

Anna: Bella, I didn't leave you, I found a small cave behind the waterfall. I was checking to see if it had enough room for both of us.

Bella: Okay, I just don't like being alone.

Anna: How about we grab the bag and go in the cave, eat, and then get some good sleep?

Bella: sounds good.

Getting out of the water, I put everything back in the bag. Back in the water, I hold the bag up to keep it dry. At the waterfall, I have Bella go first so I can hand the bag to her at the side so it doesn't get wet, then I go thru. Once in the cave, I pull out a flashlight out so we can see. Pulling out shirts for us and a blanket so we have something soft to lay on. After we dry and have shirts on, I find us some beef jerky and a can of fruit to share.

I know we should eat more but I need to make sure it last. I'm not sure when we will be able to get more supplies. When we have eat I lay down and have Bella lay beside me. I pull her close and hold her, so she feels safe and it makes me feel better.

Anna: Rest Bella, I got you and I am not going anywhere.

Bella: Thank you, for all that you and Nova have done to protect me and make me feel safe.

Anna: You don't have to thank me honey. We are happy to help you. Now rest we can talk after we have slept some.
