The story of Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) is one of great significance in Islamic history. Born as Abd al-Rahman ibn Sakhr al-Dawsi, he embraced Islam in the early years of the religion and became one of the most prolific narrators of hadith (sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad). His journey from a life of poverty to becoming one of the most respected companions of the Prophet is both inspiring and enlightening.

Abu Huraira was born in the tribe of Daws, which was known for its poverty and lack of prestige among the Arabian tribes. In search of a better life, he migrated to Medina where he encountered the Prophet Muhammad. Struck by the Prophet's teachings and charisma, Abu Huraira accepted Islam and dedicated himself to serving the Prophet and the Muslim community.

Abu Huraira is reported to have narrated over 5,000 hadith, making him one of the most prolific transmitters of the Prophet's sayings and actions.

One of the most famous stories involving Abu Huraira is his encounter with the devil, who tried to steal food from the community's provisions. Abu Huraira caught the devil and sought to tie him up, but the devil pleaded for mercy and promised to teach him something that would benefit him. The devil then taught Abu Huraira the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah (the Cow) from the Quran, which are said to provide protection from Satan's influence.

Abu Huraira's dedication to learning and preserving the teachings of Islam earned him the respect of the early Muslim community. He served as a governor of Medina during the caliphate of Umar ibn al-Khattab and continued to disseminate knowledge until his death.
