“Well, I have some good news. I interviewed a Mrs. Lavinia Hughes this morning and she seems the perfect replacement for Mrs. Crowe.”
Leslie frowned at the word replacement.
“Sorry, bad choice of words. You know what I mean. Certainly no one can replace her, but this woman is a one-hundred-and-ten percent improvement on old Grim.”
Leslie let out a yelp. “Wonderful. When can she start?”
“Hopefully in the morning. She’ll ring me later once she’s decided.”
“Wait a minute,” Leslie said. “What do you mean once she’s decided?”
