Leslie woke to the rattle of china and silverware and to tea being served in their compartment. He sat up and took the cup and saucer Edward offered. His hand shook as he stirred sugar and milk into the mixture. “You all right?” “Yes. Just not awake…yet.” The train made a sharp curve and Leslie spilled half his tea in the saucer and some on the pulldown table between them. “You really are all nerves. Anything I can do?” “Not at the moment and definitely not here.” Leslie grinned at him. Somewhere in the last hour, the scenery had changed to one of small hills and dales dotted with bracken and rock. Pocket-sized villages appeared in the distance, then vanished, as the train zigged and zagged along the rails. Dark clouds hid the sun, but rays managed to escape now and then and bathed
