I took a deep breath, the words pouring out of my heart. "Andrea, I loved Mara more than anything. Every day, I regret not being able to save her. If only I had been stronger, smarter... maybe she'd still be here."
Andrea's eyes filled with compassion, and she squeezed my hand. "What happened between all of you, Alex? You, Wayne, Liam, and Mara... what went wrong?"
I hesitated, the memories still too painful. I couldn't bear to relive them, not even for Andrea. I shrugged, trying to brush it off. "It's complicated, Andrea. Let's just say we were all caught up in a web of hate and loyalty."
