*FLASHBACK*
Mara's step-sister, Sophia, had always been jealous of the attention Mara received from their parents. Now, she had a new reason to be resentful - Mara's secret relationship with Wayne. Sophia had been suspicious for weeks, and finally, she had caught Mara in the act.
As Mara walked home through the forest, Sophia emerged from the shadows, her eyes blazing with anger. "You're such a hypocrite, Mara," Sophia spat. "You always act like you're so perfect, but look at you, sneaking around with a Lycan."
Mara tried to remain calm, but Sophia's words stung. "Sophia, please understand-"
"No, you understand," Sophia interrupted. "If you don't end this relationship, I'll tell everyone about it. Mom, Dad, the whole pack - they'll all know about your little secret."
