The realization that Audrey was truly working towards kicking me out of the pack was one thing, but hearing her conspire so openly with someone else and other people I don't know of had left me shaken.
I had always known her to be a threat to me in every way, and she had also not failed to make it known to me, but her influence within the pack was becoming clearer with each passing day.
The pack was more divided than I had ever thought of it, and Audrey had more wolves on her side than I wanted to actually believe.
I couldn't shake the conversation I had overheard between Audrey and Brenton. It had replayed in my mind a thousand times since that very night, each word sharpening the edge of my unease.
