****Jett POV****WHOLE CHAPTER
There was a light knock on the door...
"Enter." I said quietly, not taking my eyes off of Keira, even for her father.
He stopped right where I was sitting, and crouched down to eye level, before finally looking at his daughter. His hands running down his face, he takes a deep shaky breath..
"Was it.... Is she..." he was trying to say or ask anything without being able to, the emotions running through him being too much to bear.. He takes another deep shaky breath...
"Is she okay..?" He finally manages to ask..
"I'm not sure, mentally. Medically and physically she's.... as fine as she can be after a situation like that..." I say through clenched teeth.
"And... W- What was this 'situation' exactly?." he asks again, I let out a deep sigh...
Show him. Romeo ordered.
What do you mean? I asked, confused.
Watch me... He explained as he took over my actions, while I watched.
"I'll show you if you're ready to see. If you'll allow me to, Sir." Romeo said, far more respectfully than I thought he could ever sound.
Her father looked up at me, his wolf sensing that the cat within is talking now.
"And I can trust that this isn't some sort of trick.?" he asks, looking me up and down skeptically.
"But of course sir, I wouldn't dream of hurting her....I know this may come as a surprise, maybe even madding for you, but your daughter is my mate." he explains.
Her father looks at his daughter, sighs and then back at me.
"I knew she would be great one day." he chuckles... "I just wished she didn't have to go through that." he stated.
"Alright so how does, this showing me thing work?" he asks.
"Simple. I'll put one hand on your shoulder and with your other arm, you'll touch the opposite shoulder." Romeo explains, the wolf nods as we touch shoulders. We stay like that for a couple minutes before the images and memories from earlier flood through my mind, and into his like a movie.
We stay like that for 5-10 minutes before I finally stop the projections and look at the wolf with sorrow and guilt.
Her father starts crying, I'd never take him for an emotional man, but he'll I'd even cry for something like that, I'd think anyone would.
He looks at his daughter, his eyes also full of guilt...
"Dammit!" he whisper screams..."I knew I should have looked myself when she didn't turn up at breakfast this morning!" I furrowed my brows, and c****d my head to one side.
"What do you mean?" I asked, curious.
"She always comes to breakfast, so I sent out a party, and it turned up nothing, I figured that maybe she could be hiding somewhere. Maybe she was still out in battling someone... I don't really know what I thought. Just that she needed to be ok, that she was okay. Cause she's my daughter, she had to be ok." he explained, I nodded.
"Well she won't be anymore, I'm their king now. Like you, their alpha of sorts. They have to listen to me. If I'm being honest, she almost got it twice. I got there before anything was to happen the first time. As I was bringing her to my room however, I was intercepted by my father, he had drugged her while I was busy trying to please her, making her something to eat." I explained further, not wanting to spare him any detail.
"Do you know when she'll wake?" he asked, voice full of concern..
"Unfortunately it's up to her, I guess you could say she's in a coma of sorts." I replied, sighing in defeat.
"However this meeting isn't just about your daughter, it's about our tribes. We shouldn't be fighting, we need to stop the battles. live alongside each other in peace. Of course it'll be bumpy at first but I think everyone could get along." I offered, he thought for a moment, the silence deafening before nodding.
"Yes that's probably the best course of action." he finally replied, a sigh of relief coming from me, "When she wakes I'm having her named Alpha. With the two of you at the helm of this thing, we are bound to stay steady. You are strong, I can tell through your aura and your memories you shared. My daughter is very lucky, her mother.would be proud." he stated, I nodded.
"Now all we do is wait." I said.
"Call for me first thing when she wakes, I must go and take care of this....matter you have brought to my attention." he requested, I nodded.
"Yes sir. First thing." We shared a firm handshake, and he left. I turned my gaze to my beloved...
Wake up love... please.... I pleaded with her.
She will not, at least till tomorrow. The voice was familiar...
Goddess. I replied briefly as I was sucked into my subconscious and into her little world.
Tsk tsk, that's no way to treat a goddess. Though, the hostility is expected. She went through something very traumatic. She will want rest. She may not even remember what happened when she wakes. Selene explained.
So what am I to do, tell her and let her relive the whole ordeal or lie and make it seem as if it was all a nightmare? I asked, genuinely put in this compromising position, was not something ideal.
Well that my son is entirely up to you but if it were me, I'd tell her... yes she'd have to relive it but if you don't tell her now and she remembers later, she may not be able to forgive you... She suggested, and I nodded.
Well it's been a pleasure, but I will go back to watching my beloved now. I said bowing before Selene chuckled and allowed me back into my own reality.
I smiled as I stripped to some shorts and climbed into bed with Keira, she immediately had her head on my shoulder. My hand was stroking through her hair, face in the crook of my neck.
Could she be anymore adorable. I thought to myself...
Nope. I heard Romeo answer, I chuckled and kisses the top of her head.
"I'll be here for you love, just come back to me. I beg of you..." I whispered against the top of her head before kissing it again and letting the darkness consume me.
