Ruby locked herself in the bathroom and let out the breath she’d been holding. This was ridiculous. She was acting like a child. Her heart pounded wildly, and her hands had started to sweat.

She opened the medicine cabinet, staring at her reflection in the mirror. It was no wonder Elliot didn’t give her a second glance when she came downstairs.
