The words were intricate, and hauntingly unique. I'd never heard the language before it sounded like something right out of some form of ancient text or literature.
The lines were circular and cursive, it was quite beautiful under the circumstances.
I was kind of curious as to what it all meant but didn't want to interrupt the artist at work. Who knew what would happen if she wrote it wrong.
I would hate to find out and I would hate to accidentally let my tongue find it's way out of my mouth to taste it, with just the tip of course.
Being a vampire really sucked sometimes, I hated this part about me. I mean, I didn't even know where blood had come from. In my head, I was disgusted with myself, my body on the other hand, had other ideas.
I keep my distance, a few feet away from Gina as I watched her complete her vile masterpiece.
The door seemed to glow red, orange and red vibrant flames shooting across like lightening. The words she wrote glowed like burning embers into the heated metal.
As quickly as it happened, the light around the door dimmed and a noise like a key unlocking, sounded until the door creaked opened.
The soft glow of light below bled into the dark smoke filled bar.
" Well, here we go!" Grey announced.
Pushing opened the door, I followed slowly on guard, ready to pounce anything blocking my way but all was quiet.
The smell of newly cleaned flooring, bleach intertwined with a hint of spring rain filled my senses, as we pushed through.
The room we came to was stark white, marble floors with a pearlescent glow, which echoed against to the heel of our shoes as we walked. Elevator doors were spread out in a row of four down a long hallway.
A set of bathrooms sat between them which read, men and women in Brown writing.
It looked like we were in the hallway of some office building. It had the same feel, same smell, it was rather odd.
Breaking the ice, well and the awkward silence I turned to Grey, my expression calm but confused.
" Shall I even ask ? " I cleared my throat before continuing, Grey just kept her eyes ahead, her expression unchanged, she looked like she was trying to remember something, caught inside her own head.
I tapped her lightly on the shoulder, interrupting whatever she was in the middle of, and she jumped about a foot, breathing in heavy and then smacked me on the arm.
" What the hell Eli, I was in the middle of something. Dear old dad, knows we are here, he said that I should give you a tour. I was contesting but he insists, before I bring you into his home. "
I lifted my brows, intrigued but also, unsure.
" First, you got to tell me, well if you can, I mean it's not like I am human or anything and threatening to break down Satan's door but, what were you saying at the door? and how the hell was your " Father" talking to you ?".
I turned in circles, looking around, looking down both ends of the hallway, no, cameras.
Grey stared at me with her, ice blue eyes. Leaning in she let the very tip of her tongue, lick up my earlobe, before whispering, "
He is freaking Hell's Father, he doesn't need to be here in front of us to talk to me, he can talk through me, in my head.". Kissing me ever so softly on the cheek, she gripped my hand in hers.
" We are never alone here Elias, there are eyes and ears everywhere, just remember that."
"Father changes the door, "phrase", un- lock sequence, on a by-weekly basis. It never stays the same. The question of the week was,
" If you could choose a new torture method, what would it be and why?"
She rolled her eyes, " He is always looking for new material, he gets really bored, with the same old routine but he loves to use the old world language, says it's more romantic." Rolling her eyes once again, she muttered something about her mother and pulled at my hand to follow her.
" So are you saying he can read my mind, your mind ? Talk through us? Can he take over my body?".
The idea disturbed me, greatly. I mean, what if he planed on using my body for it's high s****l prowess ? He could use me to exercise his need to have s*x with pixies or some other foul creatures. A shiver went down my spine, ugh, the horror of it all, just disturbs me.
As if on cue, Grey let go of her rolling luggage and squeezed my hand.
" Don't worry, he doesn't understand " your kind", that's why he insist, Rachel take your blood, when you were " indisposed". "
" You mean? " I shook my head, " He doesn't have my soul ? My kind isn't, doesn't come from " him" ? "
" Evidently not! He has no idea how someone like "you" exists! ".
Walking toward the first row of metal elevator doors, Gina pressed the glowing button, all arrows, pointing down.
My mind was blown, any questions I had hoped would be answered here, vanished in seconds.
What a effing waste!!!
If even hell itself couldn't give me the answers I seek where the hell would I ever find the reason for my existence?
Alexia said to find the man, Mr anonymous and there was still Mac Hayden to deal with. After this escapade, in hell I had real s**t to do, with or without Gina Greys help.
What the hell I was I even here for ? We weren't together, if anything we hated each other more then anything, got on each others nerves.
She only wanted me for "s*x"!!! I only wanted her for my need to "kill". We only used each other for fulfilling our own selfish needs.
I was mostly pissed off, nothing was going to change anything . If anything this was my fault, believing that coming here would solve my problems, not even close, I felt so naive, weak.
Pushing my selfish thoughts aside, I stood in the doorway of the elevator for what seemed like hours but it had only been a few seconds.
" Eli, get the f*ck in here, I can't hold the damned door forever. ".
Grey had her hand against the door, holding it opened. The soft glow of the light above her, lit up her pale face. Her eyes were beautiful in this light.
Shit... I cared for the stripper b*tch, in my own way and she was my best friend, my only friend.
We kind of worked, our love hate friendship, it worked.
Stepping through the threshold, to a descending doorway to the unknown, I knew this s**t was about to get f*cking real.
