Scarlett and Nelly were just coming out from their first class of the semester when Nelly stopped walking and turned to face Scarlett, smiling widely.
“Have you heard?” Nelly questioned. Scarlett, who seemed uninterested, was busy on her phone. She looked up with a perplexed expression and shrugged.
“Heard what?”
“The football team is hosting a welcome back party at their house tonight.” Nelly happily announced.
Scarlett shook her head slowly, “I didn't know about it. You know you're always up to date about everything happening in school.”
“That's right.” Nelly giggled. “So are you going?”
“Nah, I don't think so. I have a lot of work to do tonight.” Scarlett replied, and Nelly looked sad.
