Chapter one:

Ray grabbed a juice box from the student fridge and sat on the couch. He switched on the television and focused to take his mind off the pile of bills on the table. He sat there for a few hours looking at the fight scenes from his favorite show my vampire system.
He checked his watch and saw that it was almost time for his shift to begin. He grabbed his faded jeans and matching jacket and wore a white t-shirt. He locked his apartment door and headed to the fast food restaurant.
Ray tied the apron around his neck and waist and took a spatula to fry some hamburgers. He glanced at the television in the kitchen and saw what looked like two beasts. A giant lizard in the shape of a man and a cheetah with human features fighting in an arena.
“Evo battles.” They both seemed to be at a standstill until the lizard activated some fire attribute and overpowered the cheetah. There were some cheers from the customers who were watching. Almost everyone around him had bestial features.
He counted the money as he walked out of the restaurant. He walked a dark street home when it started to rain. He came across two men who were holding guns at another man.
Ray witnessed as they opened fire at that man. They then turned to spot Ray staring at them. Ray then broke into a run with the two men hot on his tail. He ran into an uncompleted building and hid behind a pile of bricks. The two men followed up and started searching for him.
“Where the f**k is that kid?!!” one of the men roared in anger. His aura soared and the building trembled. The man sniffed the air then sensed Ray’s location. He signaled the other man and using their beast strength, knocked down the bricks. Ray was flung onto the ground as one of the men repeated the words “no witnesses.” The companion then pulled a gun and fired. The men the turned around and left.
A profound change started to happen in Ray’s body. A strange wisp of energy invaded Ray’s body and healed all his wounds. The energy wrapped itself around Rays mind and was slowly covering it
