Chapter Two

Ray woke up hazily and got up from the damp ground. He patted himself for any signs of gunshot wounds but found none. Surprised, he hurriedly exited the area. He went to his apartment, unlocked his door and took a quick shower. He threw his dresses into the laundry machine and changed into a new shirt. As he sat down to eat microwaved food, he saw a message in front of him. [Syncing: 100%] [Status] Name: Ray Scott Race: Nephilim Lv: 1 Traits: Omnivore Core attribute: None Ability cells: 100/100 (Dormant) Hp: 100/100 Exp: 0/200 “What the hell is this?” shouted Ray. He waved his hand across to the message but only succeeded in clearing the table. “Okay, so I’m not dreaming or hallucinating. Wait, is this like my vampire system?” wondered him as he stared at the status screen. “I must think so, yet it says I am a Nephilim. I must learn about what the race is about. But, do I not have any skills?” [Skills] [Celestial marking] (Locked) [Celestial drain](Locked) “Wow, that’s amazing!” exclaimed Ray as he read the description of the skills he had gained. His mind was exploding from the information he had gained when there was a knock at the door. He opened it to see city patrol outside. They handed him a letter and left. He opened it to see it was an acceptance sheet for Kriss Academy he had applied for a few months ago. He had managed to somehow make it through the selection test though he was a human with no abilities. He was surprised that they had accepted him and attributed it to luck. The sheet asked him to report to the campus tomorrow morning for orientation. He placed the sheet on the dining table and went to pack his essentials. He placed them on the kitchen counter and placed his headset and some chips with the audiobook on my vampire system and some songs. He zipped the bag and cleaned up his apartment. “Too many problems today: a murder, an evolution and an academy sheet. I need to get some sleep.” Murmured Ray as he cleaned up. He laid his bed and laying on it he closed his eyes. Ray woke up and shielded his eyes from the bright sunlight. He rose out of the bed and changed into a white t-shirt and jeans with sneakers. He picked the bag off the counter, locked the apartment and handed the keys to his landlord. He stepped out into the sun and headed straight for the location on foot. After a few hours, he reached the campus which was packed with people. He entered the building and was led by a man to sit at a place with random people. A Dean then came to brief them on how thing were going to be in the academy. The dean then led them through the campus in badges due to their number, showing them the departments, public gathering areas and lastly, the dormitories. Classes were to start tomorrow so they could spend the day how they liked. Students started forming their groups and chatting while Ray stood there observing and taking advice from the characters in the novels he had read. A beautiful girl with bright red feathers woven into her fiery auburn hair, noticing his calm demeanor, approached him and introduced herself as Emily. They got along well chatting about trivial topics. She soon bid him farewell and went towards the dorms leaving ray alone. Soon, he started getting bored and went over to see what his room would look like.
