18 They speed-walked back to the Last Chance. Jake held her hand as they snuck around the back, where they could peek in at the bar and see how Serena was faring. “Griffin’s helping too,” he whispered. Serena was in her element, ruling the bar like the queen she was. “They totally got this. Serena likes to boss around the customers. She says it makes a good change from sitting in her art studio.” “What about Griffin?” “He’s talking to the mayor. They’re planning a big event to promote his new kids’ camp.
