Chapter Twenty-Six Cinnamon sat to Sax’s left holding her hand in an iron grip as the 767 lifted off the runway and began to climb away from the airport. Ouch. Did she have to squeeze her hand like a lemon? She wouldn’t be able to look out the window next to her if Cin didn’t release her. She had hoped to see the city from the air. Sax looked at the little window longingly. Gray clouds filled the sky ahead. Rats! Now she’d never see the Portland skyline from ten thousand feet. The jet bounced and wobbled as the engine sounds grew in intensity. The clouds shot by faster and faster until the daylight disappeared and was replaced by blackness. Hard to believe it was noon. Double rats! Cinnamon assured her the coffee stains would come out of her butterscotch Donna Karan jumpsuit. I
