The following day, Tumi invited Lizzy to take a leisurely stroll through the park. She emerged from her house wearing a stunning floral dress, her beauty radiating as she glided down the stairs like a vision from a fairy tale. Tumi was taken aback by her loveliness, his eyes drinking in the sight of her.
As they walked hand in hand, Tumi couldn't help but admire the innocence that shone from Lizzy's very being. But when they settled onto a bench together, Lizzy began to sense that something was amiss. Tumi seemed distant, preoccupied, his eyes constantly darting to his phone as if searching for something - or someone.
"What's wrong?" Lizzy asked, her voice barely above a whisper, her concern evident on her face.
Tumi's gaze narrowed, his expression cold. "Nothing," he muttered. "Just some stuff I need to take care of."
Lizzy's curiosity was piqued. "What stuff?" she pressed, her voice laced with a hint of nervousness.
Tumi's evasiveness sent a shiver down Lizzy's spine. She didn't like the way he was acting - secretive, elusive. Her instincts screamed at her to be cautious, but her love for Tumi blinded her to the warning signs. She pushed aside her doubts and poured out her heart to him, telling him how much she loved him, how she would do anything for him.
Tumi's eyes gleamed with satisfaction as he listened to Lizzy's declarations of love. He had her right where he wanted her. With a charming smile, he asked her for a loan, claiming he needed the money for a family emergency. Lizzy, still basking in the glow of her love for him, didn't hesitate. She handed over the money, ignoring the nagging voice in her head that warned her she was making a mistake.
As the days turned into weeks, Lizzy found herself becoming increasingly entangled in Tumi's web of deceit. He would promise to meet her at a certain time, only to show up hours late, reeking of alcohol and cigarettes. He would tell her he loved her, but his actions spoke louder than his words.
Despite her growing unease, Lizzy couldn't bring herself to confront Tumi about his behavior. She was convinced that his sober side, the side she had fallen in love with, was the real him. So she continued to support him, loaning him money and making excuses for his behavior.
One day, Lizzy finally gathered the courage to sit Tumi down and ask him about his behavior. Tumi, reeking of weed, broke down in tears, confessing that he was struggling with family problems. Lizzy's heart went out to him, and she found herself wanting to support him even more.
But as she looked into his eyes, she saw something there that gave her pause. A glimmer of manipulation, of calculation. And for a moment, Lizzy wondered if she had made a terrible mistake.
